Conversations with the Inspiring Sabrina Emerson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Emerson.

Sabrina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I love writing. I love having a pen in my hand and just writing about anything that comes to me. I also love fashion, music, dance, movies, and food. I love taking pictures and creating memories as well. Blogging and social media I believe are great places to put the memories in.

Blogging and using social media has always been fun for me. In the beginning, I never took it too seriously it was just my way of spilling my feelings out. I also used blogging as a way of sharing the places I went to or ate at. At some point, I just wanted people to know about it all. I have always been a person to want to share my knowledge. I started using Instagram as my outlet for my food, travel and dance adventures. People have always come to me for a recommendation on where to eat, shop, play, etc. and I just decided one day that I should now get more into it and take it seriously.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a hard but fun road for myself. I am currently not a full-time blogger/influencer, I do it part time since my following is still small. I work a full-time job and until I get the financial means in the blogging world going, I need to learn how to balance time for it both.

Creating a blog and setting everything up that you need can be the easiest part. The next step really takes time and you need to take the time so that you can get the results that you are looking for. Make sure you read everything and look into what works and what doesn’t work. Look into groups and communities that are similar to what niche you are going into and join them. Being in communities and groups are a great way for you to get your feet off the ground and start paving the way!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Binabently story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a lifestyle blogger and influencer.

I love writing about mental health and taking care of yourself because it’s important! I love food, I’m an avid Yelp reviewer and I’m always posting on Instagram the meals and dessert I’m eating. I support local clothing brands and regular retail brands as well. I love fashion, especially affordable fashion that can be worn in many different ways and also be comfortable. I’m a big music listener, I listen to everything and love letting people know what’s happening in the entertainment world. I’m big on dance and that’s one of my favorite subjects to show support on my site.

As my own brand, I’m just really proud and happy when it comes to supporting everything and everyone around me. When I love things, I want others to love it too or just hear about it. I love sharing things that I feel is worth sharing. I will always give my best and give the most honest reviews or advice so that people who come to my Instagram or website can make the best choice in the products I support.

What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
The biggest barriers today that we, women are still dealing with is equality. It is believed that men have a better shot at leadership positions than women, even though everyone says that women are equally good to men. Reasons for holding women back to get higher positions are family responsibilities, females not being tough enough or just having inexperience.
