Today we’d like to introduce you to Valentina Hidalgo.
Valentina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Santa Clarita and spent most of my childhood as a competitive dancer, traveling all over Southern California and performing professionally around Los Angeles. Dance shaped so much of who I am it taught me discipline, creativity, teamwork, and how to show up confidently under pressure. I attended West Ranch High School, where I competed on the varsity dance team and was part of a National Grand Champion program, which really set the foundation for my work ethic and drive. Around the same time, I started posting on TikTok (formerly Musical.ly), which unexpectedly grew into a following and opened doors I never imagined, including an internship with Instagram. That experience completely changed my path and helped me discover my passion for social media marketing and digital storytelling.
In college, I ran my university’s lifestyle brand and quickly grew both the content and the community behind it. By my fourth year, I had stepped into a full-time role and was traveling around the country speaking at conferences about the importance of meeting students where they are through social media, especially as many institutions were still relying on outdated communication methods. After graduating, I worked with a few small businesses managing their social media while I found my footing post-grad, but deep down I knew a traditional cubicle life wasn’t going to be sustainable for me long-term. I loved the experience, but I felt called to do something more creative, more personal, and more hands-on.
That realization led me to wedding content creation. When the idea for The Social Vow clicked, I built a website the very next day, shot my first wedding that following weekend, and truly never looked back. What started as a leap of faith quickly turned into something bigger than I could have imagined. I celebrated one year of The Social Vow on February 15, 2026, and have since grown a team of four content creators, capturing nearly 100 events. Along the way, our work has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, People, Who What Wear, and California Wedding Day, and I was recently honored to be nominated for California Wedding Day’s Best Content Creator statewide.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, I feel incredibly lucky to have had a fairly smooth journey and a supportive family every step of the way, and I don’t take that privilege for granted. While I haven’t faced major hardships, I did navigate challenges growing up with ADHD, which taught me how to work with my brain and lean into creativity. Professionally, one of the biggest challenges has been being a people-pleaser in spaces where wedding content creation was still new and not always immediately understood. I chose to lead with kindness, positivity, and self-awareness, and over time that approach helped build trust, shift perspectives, and strengthen my confidence as both a creator and business owner.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Social Vow is a wedding and event content creation brand specializing in behind-the-scenes, real-time storytelling captured entirely on iPhone. We focus on documenting the candid, emotional, and in-between moments that couples and vendors don’t always get to see on the wedding day, delivering raw content within 24 hours and curated edits shortly after. What sets us apart is our ability to blend authenticity with a polished, editorial eye. Our approach allows couples to stay fully present while we capture the moments meant for social media, memories, and modern storytelling.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built. Couples, planners, and vendors bring us into their most meaningful days because they know we show up with professionalism, warmth, and intention. We’re known for being calm, kind, and unobtrusive while still capturing content that feels elevated, emotional, and true to the day. As a team, we’ve grown into a multi-creator studio that has captured nearly 100 events and worked alongside some of the most talented creatives in the industry, with features in Vogue, The New York Times, People, Who What Wear, and California Wedding Day.
I want readers to know that The Social Vow is about more than content, it’s about presence. Our goal is to help couples and creative partners relive their moments quickly and beautifully, without ever feeling like the experience was staged or interrupted. We’re here to tell stories in a way that feels modern, heartfelt, and deeply personal.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is capturing love stories on one of the most meaningful days of someone’s life. Being surrounded by genuine joy, connection, and celebration never gets old, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to preserve those moments in a way couples can relive and share. Outside of work, being with the people I love and traveling both ground and inspire me. Experiencing new places, cultures, and perspectives fuels my creativity and reminds me how special it is to be present and connected, which is at the heart of everything I do.
