Community Highlights: Meet Roxie Jones of FoxieRoxieGoodies

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxie Jones.

Hi Roxie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
About three years ago, I decided to play around with some of my mother’s recipes for fun. From experience, I remember that the “old school coffee cake” recipe was a big hit with family, friends, and anyone who remembered the taste of LAUSD breakfast coffee cake. The nostalgia and response from folks on social media prompted me to take on the challenge just for fun. The feedback I received was AMAZING!. Then one day, I decided to try a peach cobbler cake recipe that was floating around Facebook. I added my own twist to it and it went viral! That was the official start of FoxieRoxieGoodies.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
So far, it’s been a smooth road with building my business from the scratch. Branding and marketing have been a bit challenging, but nothing I haven’t learned to navigate. My biggest hurdle right now is elevating and growing my business. Market saturation can be discouraging, but I’ve learned that my goodies are unique to me, my life experiences, and family traditions! That is something that can’t be replicated!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I bake from my heart & soul. I specialize in southern home baked goodies with a city spin. I’m known for so many delectable treats including, coffee cakes, peach cobblers, toffee pecan cake, 7up cake, liquor-infused cakes, and so many other creative confections. The taste of my goodies is what sets me apart from others. Some of my proudest moments as a brand is when my customers refer my business to others for their baking needs. Word of mouth has been vital to building my business. FoxieRoxieGoodies offers an exceptional customer service, years of baking experience and delicious tasting goodies for every occasion.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me the most from a business perspective is being able to make a difference and give back to my community. I hope that my journey, drive and determination encourages other small business owners or even those considering starting up to step out on faith and believe in their skills.
