Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy Moraitis
Hi Randy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have the honor of serving as the Founder and CEO of CarePossible, Inc. CarePossible is an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free mental health and addiction care to military veterans, military families, and low-income families. After years of serving as a pastor overseeing the mental health and addiction programs at two Orange County mega-churches, I noticed a pattern–veteran suicides and mental health issues were increasing, and the overdose rate was skyrocketing. I encountered numerous individuals and families in crisis who lacked resources, so I decided to take action on the solution side. I assessed the situation, then developed an extensive business plan. That was over twelve years ago, and to date, CarePossible has provided over $5 million in behavioral healthcare services to veterans and others in crisis. We have literally saved hundreds of lives and families.
CarePossible offers comprehensive behavioral healthcare services, including therapy, psychiatric support, counseling, life skills coaching, and inpatient treatment. We achieve this through our team of licensed providers, located throughout Southern California, as well as in five other states.
CarePossible is also an official Narcan (opioid overdose reversal drug) distributor and has distributed thousands of doses of Narcan. CarePossible has received confirmed reports of their distributed Narcan saving the lives of SoCal residents having an opioid overdose.
CarePossible is a proud, vetted member of the Orange County Community Foundation and a go-to resource for the VA and various County agencies. CarePossible has won numerous awards, including the Samueli Foundation Big Heart Award, the LA Times Orange County Visionaries Award, USC’s Best of Mental Health on Twitter Award, Global Health and Pharma Award, Counselor of the Year 3 consecutive years in Laguna Niguel,
CA State Assembly—California Nonprofit of the Year, Mental Health Association of Orange County Professionals Award, and the OC Shrinks Award, among others.
CarePossible was featured on CBS LA and KCAL 9 (link: https://youtu.be/K3s7HPhCCZw?si=dlCGyaSJt-_z9eWN). CarePossible has also been featured in magazine articles highlighting the critical, lifesaving work that they do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As both the suicide and overdose rates increased, we realized that there was a bottomless pit of need for our services, and we never want to turn away any veteran in crisis simply because we lack funding. Mental health and addiction treatment are expensive, so the main struggle has been fundraising. We host an annual gala called CarePossible’s Salute to the Military, which has sold out for the past eleven years. We also apply for grants and seek donations from the general public. There have been many months when the need was great and the funding was low, but thanks to our generous supporters, we have never had to turn away a veteran in crisis.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about CarePossible, Inc.?

CarePossible has over forty physicians, psychologists, therapists, counselors, and coaches on our team.
I am most proud of the fact that we have saved and forever changed the lives of so many American heroes who bravely served our country. We now have hundreds of our clients who have achieved long-term sobriety and good mental health, and are now giving back to the community.
We want readers to know that asking for help is a sign of courage and wisdom, not weakness! If you are, or know of, a veteran in crisis, please reach out to CarePossible so we may be of service. And for anyone passionate about supporting our veterans, please consider donating to www.carepossible.org/donate.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways people can work with and collaborate with CarePossible. We are seeking volunteers and silent auction donation items for our annual gala, which will be held on November 8th this year. We seek professionals in the behavioral healthcare field who are interested in partnering with us. And, as a nonprofit, we seek donors and business sponsors. Donations may be made to www.carepossible.org/donate or via our official charity Venmo @carepossible.
