Hi Raina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Raina and I am from India.
I am a Chef Instructor and I run a cooking class and team Building company!
I love to create an environment for people, to gather over a common love of good food. My mission is to educate, entertain and connect people through interactive culinary experiences.
My grandma taught me the joy of cooking food for others, and I always did my homework in the kitchen and always helped her prepare vegetables. I knew I’d go to to Culinary school ever since.
After moving to LA my love for food led me to starting “Raina’s Cooking Party”
My Global Fusion dishes are a reflection of the changing dialogue about what we eat. Creating new recipes with colorful seasonal ingredients and a hint of Indian herbs is my style. I love tailoring dishes based on where my clients have travelled and what they love.
Opening up my very own home kitchen for everyone to join me and cook with me has been the most amazing experience as I get to meet people from all around the world and break bread with them, I feel truly grateful and inspired by them all and it gives me true happiness to teach them, learn from them and watch them bond with their loved ones. I get to be a part of everyone’s celebrations and special days and it’s been an absolute pleasure.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting the business during covid was a challenge, but our clients was very trusting and open to learn. It was also difficult to navigate an at home experience business with my partner.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Raina’s Cooking Party & Catering ?
I am an Indian vegetarian chef, and love exploring plant based as well as vegan recipes. My goal however is to keep my Indian culture alive through my food. I offer ethnic cooking classes, create unique customized menus for catering for parties as well as weddings and also host team building for corporates.
