Community Highlights: Meet Lee Bailey of Rabercom Enterprises

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lee Bailey.

Hi Lee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After leaving the Air Force in 1970, I became a radio disc jockey in Sacramento, California. And after stints in Washington, DC and Los Angeles, I formed my production company, Lee Bailey Productions which later became Lee Bailey Communications/Bailey Broadcasting Services. From LBC/BBS came several radio shows and seasonal “specials” like our award-winning “King: From Atlanta to the Mountaintop” program. However, our flagship program was “RadioScope: The Entertainment Magazine of the Air.” It ran on stations nationally and internationally from 1983 to 2005. Our involvement with the Internet began as a three day a week newsletter called RadioScope’s Electronic Urban Report (EUR) around 1995. In 1997, we got our own domain name (www.EURweb.com). We recently altered our name. It’s now Everything Urban + RadioScope (EUR).

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been smooth by any stretch. We’ve suffered the usual growing pains of almost every startup in history. We’ve had a number of setbacks, like lack of sufficient cash, but through it all, we’re still here and seemingly as strong, if not stronger than ever.

Rabercom Enterprises is the entity behind the EUR (Everything Urban + RadioScope) found online at EURweb.com. Like our name says, we cover urban/black infotainment and culture.
