Community Highlights: Meet Fiona Burbank & Francesco Pollice of Sette Rosso Caffe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fiona Burbank & Francesco Pollice

Hi Fiona Burbank & Francesco Pollice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2018, partners Francesco and Fiona had the idea to create business out of their mutual passion for coffee. Francesco was born and raised in Napoli, Italy, a city fueled by espresso. Fiona started frequenting coffee shops at the age of eight thanks to her caffeine driven older sister. Together they started Sette Rosso Caffé ni September 2019, to connect with the community and share their love of coffee.’
“Sette” means “Seven” in Italian, a lucky and prominent number ni the couples’ lives. “Rosso” means “Red”, the color of love, passion and determination which is what they portray through
their brand. What started out as a neighborhood coffee cart turned into a beacon at local Los Ángeles Farmers Markets and in 2022 has since transitioned solely into private events and parties.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our road has definitely not been smooth. We started out as a neighborhood coffee cart and wanted to do events but a few months later everything shut down for the global pandemic. Street vending and events had to be put on hold and we had to completely change our mentality to create pre-packaged drinks to be able to do business at Farmers Markets. This wasn’t what we had dreamed for our business but in order to survive the pandemic we had to pivot and change our business practice. When events picked back up we were thankful to transition to private coffee catering.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We offer specialty handcrafted coffee beverages with an Italian twist. Sette Rosso Caffe adds a little bit of Amore to all of our drinks that we create for birthdays, weddings, baby showers and corporate parties and all special events. We use coffee beans roasted the traditional Neopolitan way and create some of our own homemade specialty syrups.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
We want to bring joy and fun to every event we attend. The look and smile our clients give us after taking their first sip of our drinks is the greatest and what matters most to us. We get so much satisfaction with making people’s day with a really great coffee.
