Today we’d like to introduce you to Christophe Choo.

Christophe Choo

Hi Christophe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I did not begin my career in real estate with a master plan or a sense of certainty. I began with curiosity, work ethic, and a willingness to learn. In my early years starting at 12 years old, I learned about hard work. My mom & stepdad were working people, and my mom owned a beauty shop so on Sarturdays I would go with her to be there at 6 AM for her first customer. I would serve coffee, donuts, sweep the floors, fold towels, whatever was needed. She had a customer who needed her house cleaned, so every week after my mom’s customer had her hair done, I would go and clean her place. Also from that age, in France, I worked at some family businesses, a small town merchantile store, and a restaurant bar as a waiter and bar tender. lol. Starting at 16, I worked numerous other jobs, still cleaning houses, valet parking cars in Beverly Hills, gate attendant at the Hollywood Bowl, and a cashier at Dupars restaurant. I was discovered at 17 by a modeling agent and started modeling. Coming from working since I was 12 and from the fashion and modeling world, where presentation, discipline, and understanding people were essential. A simple suggestion from my girlfriend at 18, now my wife of 34 years to me changed the course of my life: Since I was traveling all over the country, Europe and Asia all the time with models which she did not like she said you need a more stable job. At 18, I said what, and she said, try real estate.

At eighteen, I entered the business with no shortcuts and no assumptions. Being the youngest agent in my office by at least 13 years and not knowing anything about real estate, I asked questions. I listened. I observed how the top experienced professionals carried themselves and how trust was built over time. One early piece of advice stayed with me: “always do the right thing, even when no one is watching” That principle became my foundation.

Over the years, markets shifted, styles evolved, and technology transformed the industry. What never changed was my belief that success is earned through consistency, preparation, being ahead of the game and curve, and genuine care for the people you serve. One client led to another. One relationship became many. Trust compounded, and today many of my clients are still with my 37 years later and with numerous transactions together and referrals from them.

Today, after more than three decades in luxury real estate, I am grateful to work at the highest levels of the market while still approaching each client with the same focus I had at the beginning. My journey has never been about transactions alone. It has been about guiding people through meaningful moments in their lives with clarity, integrity, and respect.

The path was built step by step. And I am still walking it with the same sense of purpose.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. The road has never been completely smooth. Like any long career, there have been many ups and downs, moments of uncertainty, market shifts, and personal challenges that tested my resolve. Real estate, especially at the luxury level, is cyclical and unforgiving, and there were times when deals fell apart, markets softened, or trust had to be rebuilt one relationship at a time.

What carried me through was resilience. I learned early that setbacks are not failures; they are lessons. Each challenge forced me to refine my judgment, strengthen my discipline, and stay grounded in my values. I chose consistency over shortcuts and long-term trust over quick wins. Fortunalty I believe in constantly learning so I have had the best real estate coaches continually guiding me for 34+ years and have never stopped being coached and I attend many conferences, seminars, and educational programs to continually improve my skills, what I do, so I can offer my clients the best possible real estate experience and service.

Those experiences shaped who I am today. They taught me patience, humility, and perspective. The strength I built through those years is what allows me to navigate complexity with calm and guide clients with confidence. I am grateful for the struggles because they gave depth to the success and clarity to my purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is built around a few core ideas: thoughtful representation at the highest level of residential real estate and always doing the right thing for clients. I specialize in luxury properties across Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Holmby Hills, and select premier neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles, representing both buyers and sellers in complex, high value transactions.

What I am best known for is trust and consistency. After more than three decades in the business, a significant portion of my work comes from repeat clients and referrals. I focus on long term relationships rather than short term transactions. Many of the homes I represent have notable architectural history, legacy ownership, or unique challenges, and I am often called upon when discretion, strategy, and experience truly matter.

What sets my business apart is the combination of traditional relationship driven service with modern, global marketing. I was early to embrace video, digital storytelling, and international exposure, which has allowed me to connect properties with buyers far beyond the local market. At the same time, I remain deeply hands on, guiding clients through preparation, pricing, presentation, and negotiation with a calm and steady approach.

Brand wise, I am most proud of the reputation I have built. I have never changed companies, and my brand is rooted in integrity, loyalty, and professionalism. Clients know that I show up fully prepared, communicate honestly, and always act in their best interest. The phrase Locally Known, Globally Connected reflects not only my reach but how I work.

Giving back to the community is also a central part of who I am and how I run my business. For more than twenty years I have been deeply involved with Covenant House California, serving as a board member and gala chair while helping expand shelter locations in Hollywood and Oakland and supporting capital fundraising campaigns that have created safe housing and critical services for homeless youth. I also helped launch the Sleep Out campaign more than fifteen years ago, where executives sleep on the street once a year in solidarity with homeless youth and to raise awareness of the issue and funds to support them getting off the streets and becoming productive members of society. The Sleep Outs alone have raised over $15,000,000 to provide shelter, education, and hope for young people in need. This work has been one of the most meaningful and fulfilling parts of my career.

I want readers to understand that my brand is not about volume or visibility alone. It is about stewardship. Every home and every client is treated with care, respect, and responsibility, because buying or selling a home is one of the most important moments in a person’s life.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was curious, expressive, and far more mature than most children my age. I was talkative, observant, and deeply engaged with the world around me. Because I began traveling internationally at a very young age, I was exposed early to art, architecture, culture, food, and design. By the time I was twelve, I already had a strong appreciation for museums, historic buildings, fine craftsmanship, and the beauty of different cultures.

I was particularly drawn to fashion, jewelry, and beautiful objects, not from a place of excess, but from a fascination with quality, detail, and self-expression. Although my parents were not wealthy, I was very clear about what I admired and what I aspired to. I knew early on the life I wanted to build, and that clarity gave me confidence and focus.

Socially, I often felt more comfortable around adults than children my own age. My interests and perspective were different, and I enjoyed thoughtful conversation and learning from people with more life experience. I spoke multiple languages at a young age and was naturally drawn to travel, cooking, art, and cultural traditions from around the world.

Equally important, I was raised with strong values. My mother instilled in me exceptional manners, kindness, and respect for others, especially women. She also taught me the importance of hard work. At twelve years old, I cleaned apartments for her hairdressing clients, which gave me a strong work ethic and an early understanding that independence and dignity come from effort.

Overall, I was a happy, energetic child with a strong sense of purpose. The curiosity, discipline, and appreciation for beauty and people that shaped my childhood continue to guide how I live and work today.
