Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Lyon.

Hi Brett , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I graduated from USC with a degree in Real Estate Finance, where I built a strong foundation in valuation, underwriting, and investment strategy. Early in my career, I gravitated toward the advisory side of commercial real estate — working directly with owners and investors to help them make informed, long-term decisions.

In 2014, I co-founded Lyon Stahl with my business partner, Woody Stahl. Our vision was simple but ambitious: to build a brokerage that combined elite market knowledge with a hands-on, client-first approach. We started with four agents in a small El Segundo office. Today, Lyon Stahl has grown to over 125 agents across offices in El Segundo, Century City, and Riverside. That growth has been steady, intentional, and driven by a clear commitment to transparency, execution, and results.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Growth is never linear — and scaling a brokerage in California over the past decade has meant navigating our fair share of challenges. From interest rate spikes and new rent control laws to evolving lender behavior and shifting buyer sentiment, the landscape is always changing. Like everyone else, we had to adapt during COVID, but that was just one of many hurdles along the way.

Internally, the real work has been building the right leadership, maintaining a strong company culture, and developing systems that support agents at every stage — from brand-new juniors to top producers. We’ve made mistakes, learned from them, and come out stronger each time.

Lyon Stahl is a full-service commercial real estate brokerage headquartered in Southern California. While we’ve built our reputation as a market leader in multifamily investment sales, we’re actively expanding into new product types — including retail, office, and industrial. One area of growing focus is Single Tenant Net Lease (STNL) investing, which offers compelling opportunities for long-term, passive income and is increasingly attractive to our private and institutional clients.

What matters most to me is building something meaningful and sustainable — both for my family and for the brokerage. My wife and kids are my foundation, and they shape how I think about leadership, responsibility, and long-term decision-making. Everything I do professionally is ultimately about creating stability, opportunity, and a strong example for them.

At the same time, Lyon Stahl’s growth and culture matter deeply to me. We’re in a pivotal expansion phase, and being intentional about how we grow — entering markets like Orange County and Encino/Sherman Oaks the right way, building the right infrastructure, and supporting our people — is critical. I care about doing things thoughtfully and with integrity, not just quickly.
