Community Highlights: Meet Angel Morales of Lucky Seven Print Shop

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Morales.

Hi Angel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I got into screen printing in 2010 out of a small garage with a basic 4 color, 1 station press. It started as a creative outlet. I really wanted to build something of my own and bring my ideas to life. At the time I was running an automotive culture brand called TurtleGarage, and I wanted to make merch that felt true to the community I was part of. I wasn’t chasing perfection in the beginning. I was chasing that moment when an idea becomes something real you can hold, wear, and feel proud of.

The more I printed, the more I fell in love with the craft and the art behind it. There’s something addictive about learning how ink moves, the technicalities behind dialing in a clean print, and watching a design come to life on a shirt. People around me started noticing, and what began as printing for my brand quickly turned into printing for friends, then friends of friends, and eventually people from all over. That support pushed me to take it more seriously. I moved from the small garage into a bigger one, upgraded my setup, and kept challenging myself to improve the quality and consistency with every job.

About ten years later, the dream came true, that garage grind grew into a real shop, the one I’m in today. Stepping into that space was a major milestone, not just because it was bigger, but because it gave me the room to scale what I’d been building for years. I invested in an 8 color, 10 station automatic press, a 6 color, 6 station manual press, and a large format digital printer. Those upgrades allowed me to take on larger projects while keeping the same attention to quality and consistency.

Today, I’m incredibly grateful for what I’ve built and for the opportunity to work with businesses of all sizes throughout the city of Glendora and surrounding areas. What drives me is still the same thing that got me started: creating quality work, bringing ideas to life, and building something meaningful from the ground up.

All praise to the Most High.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges early on was learning the technical side of getting a clean, consistent print. It took a lot of trial and error to understand things like proper screen tension, coating and burning screens correctly, dialing in exposure times, getting the right off contact, setting squeegee angle and pressure, and making sure the ink and mesh count matched the design. There were plenty of test prints and frustrating days where something as small as humidity, a slightly off setup, or a rushed screen could throw everything off. But that process taught me patience and precision, and it’s a big part of what shaped the quality standards I run my shop with today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Lucky Seven Print Shop is a full service print shop based in Glendora serving local businesses and customers throughout the surrounding areas. We produce high quality custom apparel and print products, with screen printing as the foundation of what we do. We specialize in clean, consistent prints, strong color, and attention to detail, whether it’s a small run for a local team or a larger order for a growing business. We also offer embroidery, DTF transfers, and large format printing so clients can keep everything in one place.

What sets us apart is that we’re quality and process driven. A lot of people see printing as just pushing ink, but we take pride in dialing everything in, from screen prep and exposure to proper ink selection and press setup, because consistency is what makes customers come back. We’re also big on communication and making the experience easy, helping customers choose the right garment, print method, and placement so the final product looks professional and lasts.

Brand wise, I’m most proud that we’ve grown from a garage setup into a shop that local businesses trust, and that our work represents them well when they wear it out in the world. I want readers to know that we’re built on craftsmanship, reliability, and genuine care for the customer’s vision. Whether you need custom shirts, hoodies, hats, workwear, or print materials for your business, our goal is to deliver something you’re excited to put your name on.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
