Check Out Tray Jack’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tray Jack.

Tray Jack

Hi Tray, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started playing the drums when I was four years old. I was taught by my older cousin and have always had an ear for music. I got my musical talents mostly from my mom who has very dynamic vocals and can sing exceptionally. Around my sophomore year in high school, I freestyled for some friends and they suggested I take music up full time. I became inspired by everyday things in life and upbringing, and music soon became a way of venting.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing worth getting is easy. You have people in the industry that promise you things that they don’t mean, expectations, politics, etc. I know what comes with what I’m chasing so I always try to learn or get motivation from any bumps along the road.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a rapper/singer, I usually rap my vocals and harmonize on my hooks. I’m known for my catchy songs, witty lyrics, and choruses. I’m most proud of getting my first placement in a movie. I always thought my music was perfect for the big screen, and my song “Moments” got into “Charm City Kings”. What sets me apart is my attention to detail and how much I actually study music and those before me. I adjust to the times and trends and want to leave a mark in music and inspire those coming up after me.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Making music every day makes me happy. Also having people tell me how much a song got them out of a tough phase in their life or how it motivated them to do something great.
