Check Out Tasya van Ree’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tasya van Ree.

Hi Tasya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in Hawaii, moved to California to attend University. Dropped out after a couple of years, school was a bit too constricting for me. I wanted to pursue my imagination and approach life with a certain depth that couldn’t be taught. I ended up in Los Angeles, a city where my unformulated reverie was interrupted by a delicate dream. I entangled myself in this life, maneuvering moments into timeless memories. I modeled, acted, stumbled into styling, took photos, made art, all while congregating with the most interesting characters and personalities. Today, I’ve rooted myself in this city, aligning myself with the artist within. Creating a moment in time where I can express the history of my ever-evolving voice.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Life is comprised of many layers. Sometimes we collide, sometimes we marvel, sometimes we unravel, sometimes we connect, and sometimes we contract. My path has been filled with monumental experiences, a full spectrum of approaches and withdraws. Embracing the furthest boundaries and also reaching for unlimited currents and impressions. Every step along the way has been a dream and I am so grateful for being here.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a multidisciplinary Artist. I examine the world through an undiluted perspective and create art with the findings that I connect to most. Immersing myself in life’s atmospheric undertones, I find the through line of meaning, and translate these moments through various mediums, interlacing my creative vision with design, architecture, fashion and everything in between.

What were you like growing up?
I was a wild-spirited child. Extremely curious and experimental. I always had an inclination to move and to discover. Instinct and common sense was instilled in me early on and I understood that all possibilities were infinite. I was weightless and free, open to expressing myself through the colorful cascades of my own individualism. I had a tendency to connect to Nature and to the very essence of its meaning, which I still carry with me today. Life in Hawaii was exceptional, extraordinary, filled with so much sweetness and trembling forces of beauty and wonder.
