Check Out Tammuz Lee’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tammuz Lee.

Hi Tammuz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since I was five years old, I wanted to become an actor. I know that’s such a young age to know what you want to do with your life but I did know. It was acting for me. I was very shy but I knew I had to get past that and I started to take acting classes. It was a disaster at first and my dad said to me, “You sure this is what you want to do” and from then, I knew I had to dig deep down inside of me to overcome that shyness. I worked super hard and I went to acting classes every single weekend. I never gave up even when it got super hard I kept going. I found that fire inside of me and I ran with it. On my journey to becoming an actor, I also fell in love with modeling and I started to pursue that. I am an actor/model and I love what I do. I am currently signed with UPMT and ENVY models and I have two amazing agents. It has been an amazing journey so far and I have worked with such talented people and I’m very thankful for where I’m at in my career. This is only the beginning of Tammuz Lee.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My path has not been easy at all. I’ve had so many obstacles and challenges I had to face. I struggled with not being good enough for people and I struggled with my look. It was very hard to get my face in the door because of my look. I am black and I have dreads that are super long. You don’t see actors with dreads on tv at all. This is my look and I wouldn’t change it for anyone. I knew that was going to set me back but that made me work even harder to show people that there can be actors on the big screen with long dreads and who are black. I’ve never felt represented on the big screen so I want to be that for people who also feel that way and are facing that challenge.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actor/model. I’ve been acting since I was 13 years old and I have worked with amazing actors and actresses and have been trained by brilliant people. I have worked with brands such as Puma and The Body Shop. I have been in music videos such as Amber Mark Competition and Undecided future YaYaYa. In 2020, I booked my first cover for MUZE magazine. I am most proud of the Body Shop commercial I booked for their Spread Love campaign. I had the best time on set and the whole cast/crew were so nice and welcoming. It was the best two days on set I’ve ever had. It also was shown on Times Square which has been something I’ve dreamed of my whole life. I feel that everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way but what sets me apart from others is my look and how I portray myself.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First off, my father is my biggest supporter. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I’m at. He has pushed me so much and has helped me become the man I am today. My mum has always been by my side and she has helped me in so many ways. I have had amazing acting coaches such as Troy Rowland, Kj Smith, and Amanda Zarr who deserve all of their flowers. I appreciate the way each and every one of them has pushed me and guided me into the actor and person I am today. My agents Kharmony Fortune and Russel Frank are the best agents out there. They work super hard to get my name out there and I appreciate all the hard work they put into me and into their clients.
