Today we’d like to introduce you to Nashali Rodriguez

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I created Mlaeir out of pure love and heartbreak. Mlaeir to me means being able to start over creating your own realm. Mlaier, (Realm spelled backwards with an added ‘I’) was created out of passion and pure drive to keep on going even while being heartbroken. My first true love; having to let it go and continue to focus on pursuing my dreams hurt me so deeply but it was a pivotal time in my life. I’m sure everyone can relate to the first true love and heartbreak…

Mlaeir is my daily reminder to keep on going that anything is possible and to continue creating my own realm and destiny. I hope it inspires everyone who comes across my brand artist or not. I believe everyone is ignited by something and when you light a Mlaeir candle I hope you remember that you are deserving, worthy and most importantly you are capable of creating your own story and your own destiny.

I somewhat knew what I wanted out of life. And it wasn’t shoveling snow out of the driveway and being stuck on the 95 to get to work every morning. So I packed my whole life in my Toyota and with my camera vlogged the whole experience for my family and friends to see on my Youtube channel to still feel a bit close whilst being so far away and drove 3,121 miles away.

I left everything I ever knew behind… I didn’t have much of a back up plan. It was my first time visiting California but I just knew I had to figure it somehow because there was no option to go back home. As soon as I left Massachusetts my entire family left our childhood home. My parents moved out of the country to Puerto Rico where I was born and my siblings started their own lives. So whether I liked it or not I had to keep going and figure it out.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being in your twenties are the most challenging years of your life. Not knowing who you truly are and what you truly love can make one feel so cold and empty. Constantly trying to find ways to fill the voids by trying new things, new careers, new studies, finding new friend groups, leaving behind old loves and balancing it all while trying to stay sane can get so overwhelming.

But we must remember that everyone is trying their best and we must remain optimistic even when life gets tough because after all it’s all about feeling and how we make others feel is what we leave behind. The human experience loving, feeling and living it is the key to staying alive and finding your purpose while here on earth. Remembering to balance all aspect of your life.

Never giving up on arts as painting always has been my solace and Youtube vlogging my whole life journey as it is the only thing in my life that’s also remained somewhat consistent has made me truly happy. Painting at night I’ve always light up a candle or several. Which is also why I created Mlaeir. Scent is very nostalgic and special to me lighting and setting the mood as well in every aspect of my life.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is acrylic and oil on canvas. Now with creating art both physically and digitally and creating my brand Mlaeir to help up and coming artist in the future. I can say I’ve found my purpose. I will create charities and fundraisers to help others and hope to fill their own voids and continue to share my journey on Youtube.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Put yourself out there. Take risks NO MATTER what. Life can get boring so why not go all the way in and play in hard mode. We know what easy mode is like. Go after your dreams. Give it your all. Ask the questions. It’s okay not to know. People will teach you and you will learn along the way. But you have to trust in yourself and know that it’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to ask questions and get rejections. You have to be okay with rejection. It is okay. Believe in yourself truly. Everything will always be okay as long as you’re breathing, sleeping, eating and most importantly believing in yourself and living in your true reality.

Always be grateful for every single thing. Never take anything or anyone for granted. If you believe it and dream it it’s because it’s meant for you. Close your eyes and feel it, believe it, envision it. And believe it is yours.

Also take your time. Life is a marathon not a race unless you want it that way right? I have slowly taken my time with what I do because I don’t want to live in regret and I truly enjoy the process and just knowing it will happen and believing is the key.
