Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Lore` Stinson.
Hi Monique Lore`, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
began my career in reality television, working in recruiting and casting—developing a strong instinct for people, storytelling, and what captures attention on screen. That foundation naturally evolved into a deeper interest in real stories, which led me to transition into documentary filmmaking during the pandemic.
As I stepped into this space, funding and brand placement became an organic extension of my work. Being based between Los Angeles and Orange County, I found myself at the intersection of media, startups, and brand visibility. I was able to align my passion for entrepreneurship with my creative projects—integrating my podcast, brand partnerships, and storytelling into one cohesive ecosystem.
Today, I am in what I call my refining era—focused on making intentional changes, maximizing my time, and helping both my projects and the brands I work with reach their full potential.
At the center of this evolution is my documentary trilogy and distribution company, Latchkey Kid Films. Through The Pandemic Project Documentary, The Pandemic Film, and The Endemic Project Documentary, I set out to capture something much bigger than a moment—I captured a global shift in humanity.
Over a five-year period, I produced and directed one of the most ambitious independent documentary undertakings of the modern era. Traveling to over 40 countries—largely solo—and 20 cities across the United States, I documented firsthand accounts from essential workers, entrepreneurs, families, and frontline responders as the world experienced COVID-19 in real time.
Without the backing of a major media conglomerate, I independently built a vast, international archive of raw, authentic footage—creating a body of work that is not only cinematic, but historical. My goal has always been to tell the stories that matter, in the moments they are happening, and to build platforms that allow those stories—and the people behind them—to be seen, heard, and valued.
This is more than film making for me. It is about impact, alignment, and creating meaningful, lasting narratives that connect people, brands, and culture on a global scale.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been shaped by serendipitous moments and breathtakingly unique experiences—alongside real trials and losses. I welcome all of it. I learn fast. I pivot faster. I accelerate when things align and pull back when they don’t.
It’s a bit of a rubber band effect—stretch, release, recalibrate. That’s what keeps me agile. I’ve developed a strong instinct for knowing when something is truly clicking and when it’s time to shift, refocus, or completely rebrand.
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced the constant tension between balance, budget, personal life, and the endless list of responsibilities. That pressure isn’t foreign to me—it’s part of the journey. But I’ve learned to implement boundaries, manage expectations, and communicate clearly so I can sustain the pace without losing myself in the process.
Burnout? It’s always somewhere in the background. But so is discipline, self-awareness, and purpose—and those are the forces I choose to lead with.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a producer, storyteller, and strategic brand integrator who operates at the intersection of media, entrepreneurship, and global culture. I build platforms, not just projects—blending documentary filmmaking, brand placement, and narrative-driven content into cohesive, scalable ecosystems.
What sets me apart is how I move. I’m instinctive, agile, and highly adaptive. I’ve built my career on recognizing when something is working, when it’s not, and having the discipline to pivot, refine, or reimagine in real time. That “rubber band” ability—to stretch, recalibrate, and accelerate—allows me to stay ahead of the curve creatively and strategically.
During the pandemic, I applied that mindset to execute a largely solo, global documentary trilogy—traveling across 40+ countries and 20 U.S. cities to capture real-time human stories without the backing of a major conglomerate. At the same time, I organically integrated brand partnerships and funding models, turning storytelling into a sustainable business engine.
I don’t just create content—I create alignment. Between brands and audiences. Between stories and impact. Between vision and execution.
I also understand the realities behind the work—the pressure, the pace, and the constant demand for balance. I’ve built systems, boundaries, and communication practices that allow me to operate at a high level without burning out, even while navigating complexity.
At my core, I am a builder in a refining era—focused on maximizing potential, elevating what works, and transforming ideas into globally relevant, culturally resonant platforms. I also have a couple of Emmys that I am super grateful for and proud of, but I sacrificed most of my late 20´s & some of my 30 ´ s, a dog, a move and a life to obtain them.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advice- although I am NOT in the habit of giving advice is simple. Don´t listen or spend time or energy getting people to approve or to like you, allow for failure, (the sooner the better), and just go for it.
