Check Out Michelle Ares’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Ares.

Hi Michelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began blogging around seven years ago. I love finding new places to explore. I also enjoy doing research to find out how I can have one of a kind experiences. Friends and strangers alike started asking how I got to do cool things so I created a blog to share about my adventures with others. LA Dreaming is a blog, an Instagram account, and now a podcast where I highlight things to do in the city of angels. I also share about other places in California as well because I believe this is such a fantastic state that I want to do my part to encourage people to explore it.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My original blog got hacked and is still under control by someone else. That has been a tough situation to deal with but I am thankful that I had already decided to switch from a broad blog to focusing on my love for the LA area. Since then, I have really challenged myself to learn more about protecting myself online.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently working for a market research company in the entertainment industry. We test movies to help studios figure out if they need to make changes, how to market the movie, etc.

Work-wise with LA Dreaming, I am working on creating more books. It is my dream to have a California related book on sale in physical stores. At the moment, I have an e-book that I have written to help others meet and/or see celebrities in LA. For future books, I would love to focus more on specific travel guides.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I always love listening to Valentine in the Morning on 104.3 MyFM. The show always helps start my mornings out on a positive note. If I miss the show, I try to catch up through their podcast.
