Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Hall
Hi Mia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my journey in the arts at a young age, I grew up in choirs, band, musicals, etc. In high school I did the Full International Baccalaureate Programme. The program offered IB music composition, theory, and history, dance classes, acting, and plenty other classes that have me the knowledge I needed to pursue the arts. I went to the Jimmy Awards my junior year and from there, met my agents. (Shoutout Sean and Rikky!) They have been so supportive of me and the artist i want to evolve into. They’ve helped me book shows like Spring Awakening, The Prom, and my Off-Broadway debut in Relapse.
Back in high school I posted a TikTok vlog of a Dear Evan Hansen open call. From there people were curious as to how it went, and wanted more performance content. I now post about theatre, singing, wellness and lifestyle, brand marketing, NYC living, spirituality and neurodivergence.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been the rockiest road, but one I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Neurodivergence is a facet of my life that impacts everything. From a super young age i’ve dealt with things like sensory issues, poor emotional regulation/expression, dissociation and anxiety, and tics.
Sharing these experience online and with loved ones has allowed me to connect with others who feel the same way. The possibility of being able to reach younger autistic theatre kid who feels out of place in this world makes it feel worthwhile.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator based in NYC who specializes in music and theatre, lifestyle and wellness, and funny bits here and there! I have an obsession with all things autumnal, cottagecore, earth toned, and witchy. I sometimes worry about not confining to one specific niche on TikTok, but I’ve recently realized that my audience comes for me as an individual, somebody who consists of a bunch of different interests and passions.
I’m super proud of the community and connections I’ve made with the theatre industry in NYC. Getting recognized in public by a fellow theatre lover truly never gets old, I’m always the most grateful. Whenever somebody tells me I inspired them to do theatre, I feel like an angel growing it’s wings.
