Check Out Maya’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maya

Hi Maya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been an artist at heart. Growing up, I was surrounded by creativity. One grandmother was a musician, and the other had an effortless sense of style, always playing dress-up with her friends in bold, leather-print outfits. Watching them embrace their artistry and express themselves so fully shaped the way I see the world. They nurtured my creative spirit, and I owe so much of my success as a brand photographer to them.

I went on to study Studio Art at Denison University, concentrating in photography. Early in my career, I noticed something that stuck with me – when I photographed women, they loved their images but often hesitated to actually use them. Instead of leveraging these beautiful, powerful photos to promote their businesses and show up confidently online, they held back. That realization pushed me to expand beyond photography, offering a full suite of branding services to help women not only look the part but own their presence, both visually and strategically.

My work is about giving women the confidence to step fully into their brands, sell their services unapologetically, and chase their dreams. In many ways, it’s the same lesson my grandmothers taught me: you deserve to take up space. You deserve to be seen. And you deserve to succeed.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Problem-solving is a huge part of what I do, and one of the most important challenges I tackle is getting women to see themselves as confident, powerful individuals not just in the moment of our content session, but every day in their business. It’s easy to feel unstoppable during a photoshoot when you’re styled, prepared, and have someone hyping you up behind the camera. But after the session ends, that confidence can fade, and many women struggle to consistently market themselves.

The real challenge isn’t creating beautiful content, it’s helping my clients believe they’re worthy of showing up for their brand and that investing in themselves is a necessity. Some women hesitate to put themselves at the forefront of their business, even when they have the visuals and strategy to do so. That mindset shift is something I work through with my clients, and honestly, it’s something I’ve had to work through myself.

I’ve learned that in order to inspire confidence in others, I have to lead by example. I can remind my clients that they and their businesses are valuable, but I also have to show them what’s possible by embodying that confidence myself. That means holding myself accountable, continually learning, and showing up boldly in my own business. If I believe in my brand, others will too. Over time, I’ve found that confidence is like a muscle; the more you use it, the stronger it gets. And my job is to not only capture my clients at their best but also give them the tools and mindset to carry that energy long after our session ends.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Most women in business don’t struggle with their work…they struggle with being seen. I am a brand photographer and creative strategist who helps female entrepreneurs confidently show up in their businesses through strategic visuals and marketing guidance. I provide my clients with the tools and strategy to use those visuals effectively, ensuring their brand presence feels powerful, cohesive, and aligned. What I’m most known for is my ability to make women feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, turning what can feel like an intimidating process into an empowering experience. But what truly sets me apart is the way I listen. Many of my clients tell me that working with me feels different because they feel heard. I take the time to understand their brand, their challenges, and what holds them back from showing up fully. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all branding. Instead, I craft a personalized approach that helps each woman step into her unique presence and market herself with confidence. What I’m most proud of is the transformation I see in my clients – not just in the impactful content we create, but in the way they own their presence afterward. Seeing a woman go from hesitant to fully embracing her role as the face of her brand is the most rewarding part of my work. At the end of the day, my mission is to help women stop hiding and start owning their space because when they do, their business (and their confidence) thrives.

What’s next?
As I move my business to Los Angeles, my biggest focus is building a thriving community of entrepreneurs and creatives who challenge, support, and inspire one another. I firmly believe that success isn’t something we achieve alone. We grow the most when we surround ourselves with people who push us to see things differently and who remind us why we started in the first place.

Los Angeles is full of visionaries, artists, and innovators, and I’m excited to immerse myself in an environment where creativity and new ways of thinking are constantly evolving. Problem-solving is at the core of what I do, and being in a space that fosters collaboration and diverse viewpoints will allow me to continue growing, both personally and in how I serve my clients.

Beyond expanding my business, I want to create a space where female entrepreneurs feel empowered in their work and in their everyday lives. My goal isn’t just to build a brand, but to cultivate a movement of women who take up space unapologetically, support each other wholeheartedly, and embrace the power of community. And LA feels like the perfect place to bring that vision to life.
