Check Out Lindsay dos Santos’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay dos Santos.

Lindsay dos Santos

Hi Lindsay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Oh man, asking me to make a story brief is hard but I will do my best! I would say about 25 years ago I was working through a cosmetology program in my hometown of Fresno, Ca. For reasons even unknown to myself, I walked away. My best guess would be I was young and afraid of failure. Fast forward through so many twists and turns in this thing called life, it was time for me to find myself again and to remember who I was before being a mama to five kids. I was excited and driven so when my youngest started preschool full time, I enrolled in an esthetics program in Simi Valley, Ca. I would take all five kids to school, get to my school, clock out at the end and scoop up all the kids from school and end the day with being a mama. Monday through Friday was a busy blur but I was so fulfilled during that time. I knew I was exactly where I needed to be. I began the program in August of 2022 and passed my exam in February of 2023. I went out on the hunt for a job in March. I found it was quite difficult to get hired anywhere as a newly licensed esthetician. Thankfully I landed a job as soon as I walked into European Wax Center in Westlake Village. A few months later I was using my tip money to rent my own space in a salon so I could work on facials, brow laminations, lash lifts and more body waxing. A change in the salon situation forced me to look for another space. I met Jade, the incredible owner of Jaded Beauty in Thousand Oaks, and I immediately rented from her. It was a great place to be and it kept me motivated with the goals I had set for myself. I don’t want to say I was getting restless at European Wax Center but I could tell it was getting to the point where I needed to give myself an exit goal so I could focus on my own space. Six months later I had Brittaney, the owner of Face and Soul Studios in Thousand Oaks, in for a facial. I had known her and the rest of the women of Face and Soul for about 8 years. They had just moved into a new space and had an extra room to rent. She asked if I would be interested and it was a no brainer. Face and Soul Studios was my dream. I moved into that space in July 2024, left European Wax Center in October 2024. My business has truly taken off and I am so incredibly grateful. There are days that I look at my books and get nervous about not having enough clients but when I look back to when I started, the change is huge. I’m really grateful to be a part of Face and Soul Studios. The women I work with are amazing. The clients are incredible. To think of where I started to where I am now, makes me really proud and excited for what’s to come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I believe once I started down this path, knowing it was the right path for me, made even the hard days seem easy. Knowing I have five kids watching my every move and needing me to succeed keeps me motivated!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The services I offer include: facials, body waxing, brow laminations, lash lifts, brow tint and lash tint. I love all of the services I provide. I don’t have a favorite. All of the services have a different outcome and client interaction. I love to give facials because it’s calm and I know that’s a time for someone to relax. Body waxing is always funny and makes for great conversations. Brow and lash services are fun because the results are always so stunning. I am most proud of the safe space I provide for my clients. We laugh, vent, dig deep, celebrate and cry together. I love when a client falls asleep because I know they feel comfortable enough with me to fully relax.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love working in the heart of Thousand Oaks. There’s an eclectic mix of businesses and I appreciate how everyone, not just in the beauty industry, cheers each other on.
