Check Out Katie Adler’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Adler.

Hi Katie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A New Jersey native, Katie Adler grew up as an athlete and triple threat in the performing arts industry. As a singer, dancer and actress, the stage is where she has always felt most at home. She grew up performing in dozens of plays at her local community theatre, attended a performing arts high school and later earned her BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. Katie also had the opportunity to study abroad at The Shanghai Theatre Academy during her junior year. A true academic, she graduated on the Dean’s List and Cum Laude at MSU. Katie moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to continue to pursue her passions in the performing arts industry. She has studied with world renowned acting coach, Jack Waltzer, to continuously improve her craft. A proud SAG/AFTRA member, Katie has worked extensively as a professional dancer and actress in national tours, theatre, television, film, national commercials, and print modeling.

Katie has developed her fitness as a hybrid athlete. Most recently, she has participated in multiple Hyrox events competing in Women’s Open Division and Mixed Doubles Division. Growing up as a swimmer, she is a US Masters Certified Swim Coach and Adult Learn to Swim Instructor. A member of Tower 26 triathlon training team, she has competed in numerous USMS Championship and National swim meets, triathlons, and open water swim races. Her most notable swim races have been the 2024 10K SF Golden Gate Bridge to Bay Bridge and the 2023 Escape Alcatraz Sharkfest Swim. Always up for a challenge, she ran her first half marathon last year, the famous “Rocky Run,” in Philadelphia. Katie will be running her first marathon this October in Long Beach.

Growing up as an athlete, Katie has always had a passion for movement, health and wellness. She was inspired to return to school in 2018 after her father survived a stroke. She wanted to better understand how she could help her dad and others with cardiovascular disease prevention and recovery. She became a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine and holds a degree from The American Fitness and Nutrition Academy. A student at heart, she returned to school once again in 2025 to become a Certified Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.

Today, Katie is extremely passionate about helping others improve their overall health so they can live their highest potential. She is a fitness clinician at ResWell Health, an Integrative Mental Heath practice in Pasadena. Katie works with dozens of clients ranging from 8-85 years old, in helping facilitate movement in their every day lives. She continues to dedicate her time towards honing her craft in the performing arts, fitness industry and mental health profession. She believes her background in studying humanity and human behavior in the performing arts helps her connect deeply with others.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey to where I am today has come with many twists, turns, and bumps in the road. In my early 20’s during college, I struggled with an eating disorder, over exercising, amenorrhea and serval injuries as an athlete. This was a pivotal turning point in my life, as my recovery set the foundation towards caring for my mental health. I found the courage to go to therapy during a time where mental health was extremely stigmatized. I spent several years healing my relationship with food, my body and self. Those were extremely transformative years and I am so grateful to have grown through that struggle to get to the other side. As a health coach today, I truly believe I was gifted that hardship so I could coach and inspire other women listen to their body.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Fitness Clinician at ResWell Health, an Integrative Mental Health Practice in Pasadena. I collaborate with our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and board certified family medicine doctors to support our patients from a “whole person” approach. My biggest priority when I am in session is to meet my client where they are at and help regulate their nervous system through movement and connection. Our mission at ResWell is to eradicate the mental health stigma.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is waking up every day with a heart filled with a vision, purpose and drive to help make a difference in the world. My favorite quote that speaks to how I define success is, “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say ‘I used everything you gave me.'”
