Check Out Jordyn Boldin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordyn Boldin.

Jordyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My dream has always been to act in TV/Film, but I never lived in a place where that was possible, so I didn’t think it would ever happen. During college, the pandemic started and it allowed me time to consider what I really wanted to do.
Then, my brother was killed in a random shooting in San Diego and it reminded me how life can end so suddenly. I knew if I never tried to make it in acting, I would always regret it. I started saving up and looking for jobs in LA and eventually, I made it happen. I have now been in LA for four years pursuing my dream.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. After only living in LA a few months, the strikes started. I was out of work (background jobs) and no one knew how long it would take to get back to normal. Even now, I think it is still very different. The film world is so different than it used to be. Since Covid, auditioning is still mostly online, and many projects want you to have an internet following already. It is so hard to make it to a place where people start noticing you.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Currently I am trying to get acting gigs however I can. I attend a class every week to work on my craft and hopefully meet people that I can work on projects with. My roommate wrote and directed a YouTube web series called “So LA” and I was a main character in that. It shows life in LA for people who are struggling to make ends meet and succeed in their careers, it’s very fun.

I think what sets me apart is that I have a lot of life experience, both good and bad. This experience helps me tap into those emotions and portray them on camera. I also have a good sense of humor and love to goof off and go all out in scenes. These things also allow me to connect with many different people and grow friendships.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One thing that always surprises people is that I was born in Mexico. Both my parents are American, so I don’t have Mexican blood, but I do have dual citizenship. Sadly, I’m not fluent in Spanish though because we moved around a lot when I was little, but I can have some conversation.
