Check Out Jordan Jetson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Jetson.

Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started making music around age 14 but I was a junior deacon in my family church at 5 years old, so that’s where I learned to perform.

14 I got into hip hop, and I made it a career around age 22. Louisville is a very artistically bold city, so it was easy to find a fanbase that really appreciated my uniqueness.

Once I had kids, I decided I would clean up my lyrics and online presence since they seemed to really enjoy the music and I wanted to give them something positive to listen to.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say that at all. I come from a low-income neighborhood that can be rough if you don’t understand its inner workings well enough. I was raised in a home with no father. I had to grow up early. I’ve even been to jail and had to fight a murder case which, in all honesty, should have been a self-defense case but you know how the court systems are.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in music, primarily rapping and sing, as well as dabbling in some guitar here and there, but I also consider myself a bit of a philosopher these days as well. Most people who see my live enjoy the energy most, it’s a high-intensity performance. People who have only heard the music like that it has a positive message but is also sonically pleasing to listen to. I feel like that’s a balance a lot of people ignore and I’m really proud of it.

What’s next?
In all honesty, I haven’t thought past “organizations to help others”. Food and clothes for the less fortunate, affordable housing, work programs, education.

As far as my music goes, I’d just like to keep making it.
