Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffery Dang.
Jeffery, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been a kid who enjoyed and participated in the arts for as young as I can remember. Being put into years of piano, violin, and music theory lessons, years of late-night dance rehearsals, and picking up so many different hobbies like sewing, crochet, clay sculpting, and video editing – I was always drawn to people’s creative capabilities and wanted to develop those skills. As the years progressed, I grew up in the developing digital age, and that was something that I could not escape, chronically online, as one might say. I’ve been on all the social media that you could think of because that is where I felt heard and felt in tune with a community that shared the same interests and humor. After years of music and dance lessons, I transitioned to the form of digital media to share my artistic ideas, style, and interests. After juggling the corporate world at a young age, all while attending school, I took my graduation as a sign to go full-time and further pursue what made me feel fulfilled and having a purpose in life, hoping to inspire people of all ages to do the same — you’re never too young or too old to start.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been smooth. Being a first-generation Asian American college student, navigating life and balancing between chasing your dreams versus being “realistic” was the toughest challenge. Other creatives who have the same background can agree that most of our life is trial and error because of the lack of knowledge and resources that we had growing up. It truly is a rollercoaster, but is an experience that I highly value in making me the person who I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a fashion and beauty content creator/internet personality. I am known mostly for my fashion and beauty content on Instagram and TikTok as well as my personality. In my content, I strive to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western aesthetics and merge them into one, which is something I highly resonate with. What I am most proud of isn’t just the platform that I was able to create but the integrity and soft skills that I developed over time. This industry strives for collaborative efforts and building long-lasting relationships with true intentions. And lastly, we creators do not work for the algorithm, we work with other people in sharing creativity to the world.
What are your plans for the future?
Maybe it’s a secret? One thing I will say is that I will always be for the people. I hope to one day bridge the gap between clients and creatives, helping others, providing value and quality work whether I am in front of the camera or behind it.
