Today we’d like to introduce you to Geena Martinez

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started golfing because I was networking and connecting in my business role as a director of strategic partnerships. A lot of my clients and prospects and partners golfed and remembers of prestigious country clubs. So in 2019 was when I started picking up golf and playing in tournaments for business and by the time 2020 came around I had already played over 20 private country clubs. Which for a new golfer is very abnormal. Most golfers that have played 20+ years usually don’t get a chance to play those type of clubs, nevertheless the amount of golf that I have played in a year. So by 2022 I decided to start a profile for people to follow my golf journey playing different golf courses. And now in 2025 I have played over 141 golf courses globally.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, nothing is ever smooth road when it comes to a journey personally or professionally. But it has a lot to do with being able to maintain a work life balance, and spend hours on the golf course whether it’s networking or playing with friends and maintaining a balance with family and kids as well and on top of that being a professional career woman.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
So I’ve decided to lean into being more into my golf content and they call us creators lol I guess. If I was to say specialize in anything I would say it’s really big in love with the game of golf and showing people that you could be any ethnicity any age, any gender and any type of personality and play whether it’s for business or for fun and not take too seriously but also continuously get better and better.

I am most proud of being able to really love the game and love the challenges that it gives every stroke every swing every different course and get my daughter involved and now she plays varsity golf at her high school.

I would say what sets me apart is that I am Vietnamese American and I started golfing at 40 years old and you don’t see a lot of of that in our community as well as a female. It’s a very intimidating sport because it’s very male dominated and if you wanna play very well you started a very young age so if you wanna start and you’re out there playing with people who are really good it can be very intimidating and very scary. So to know that I picked it up in my 40s and I have a decent game lol and I’m able to keep up with my other male golfer friends. It’s pretty cool.

What makes you happy?
Golf makes me happy and of course my kids. The why is pretty self-explanatory, but I will say that my kids are the easiest part of my life. They’re easy like Sunday morning. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
