Hi Felicia M., so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised on O’ahu, Hawaii and grew up living a care-free, simplistic lifestyle. Coming from a small town called Kahalu’u urged me to move to a metropolitan city one day. Now call Marina Del Rey my home. I’m a proud dog mom to a fluffy golden retriever.
I am the founder, lead photographer, and editor of the Los Angeles and destination wedding photography business Weddings With Felicia. We are an expanding team based in Los Angeles, CA and travel across the United States for both local and destination weddings. I have pursued photography and cinematography within the wedding industry for five years and have been humbled to capture the forever moments of my clients.
Nothing is more exciting than capturing life’s raw moments and to be a part of an event that serves true meaning. My vision for each wedding event is to visually tell a story that will emotionally connect each couple back to previous memories time and time again. Pursuing film within the wedding industry has opened my eyes to many experiences and possibilities of love.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Having the opportunity to work with such talented wedding planners and other vendors has been such an amazing experience thus far. Although starting any business may have its ups and downs, this industry has been the most refreshing and positive outcome personally and professionally.
My team and I filmed our first wedding back in August of 2017 and wanted to provide the best experience not just for our couple but to for their families and friends. From start to finish, we realized how particular it can be to capture these weddings and how you really have to prepare for the unexpected.
Focusing on how much progress we have made since our first wedding, we have continued to be proactive and to find ways to not just make our couples feel extra special but to work efficiently as a team.
