Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Antillon.
Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always believed that life’s milestones no matter how small deserve to be celebrated with beauty and intention. My story started with the magic of the Tea Party under the name Padme Tea Party, I focused on those delicate, whimsical details that make a child’s eyes light up. I loved the tradition of it but as I spent more time with my clients, I saw a much bigger need in our community.
I noticed that parents were craving more than just a theme, they wanted an elevated, boutique experience that felt sophisticated yet fun. They wanted the convenience of a professional who could handle the aesthetic from start to finish. I found myself designing luxury picnics, coordinating intricate craft stations and styling events that felt more like art installations than just parties. I realized that my business had outgrown its original name.
The transition to Padme Events was a natural evolution. It was time for the name to match the scale of the work I was doing. Today, Padme Events serves as a full-service creative studio for celebrations across Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. We specialize in taking the stress off the parents and replacing it with a bespoke, high-end experience that their guests will talk about for years.
I got to where I am today by staying true to a quality over quantity mindset. Whether I’m working with luxury fashion samples or styling a backyard birthday, my eye for detail remains the same. Padme Events isn’t just a business for me; it’s a way to help families in my community pause and enjoy the beautiful moments they’ve worked so hard for. We are just getting started and I couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say the road has been perfectly smooth, but I believe the challenges are exactly what refined Padme Events into what it is today.
One of the biggest struggles was navigating the ever-changing landscape of the events industry over the last few years. Starting out with a very specific niche tea parties meant that when trends shifted or when the world changed, I had to be willing to pivot. There were moments of uncertainty where I had to ask myself: Is this just a hobby, or am I building a brand? Choosing to lean into the brand meant taking risks. The process of rebranding itself was a challenge letting go of the Padme Tea Party identity that everyone knew and trusting that my clients would follow me into this new, broader vision of Padme Events. It required a lot of late nights, learning the backend of digital marketing and constantly raising my own bar for quality.
Another challenge is the physical and logistical reality of being a solopreneur in the beginning. Lugging heavy decor, setting up in the California heat and managing the high expectations of luxury events requires a lot of stamina. But every time I see a finished setup and the client’s reaction, those struggles feel like a small price to pay for the magic we create. I’ve learned that the bumps in the road are actually just opportunities to build a stronger foundation.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I run Padme Events, where I get to design special moments for families. I specialize in a few different things, themed kids entertainment and full event styling events/celebrations/parties. I’ve recently transitioned from Padme Tea Party to Padme Events because I wanted to be able to offer more variety. At the end of the day, I’m just someone who loves to take a blank space and turn it into something that feels special for a child’s birthday or a family gathering.
I think people know me most for being really hands-on and focused on the little details. I’m not the type of person who just drops off decorations and leaves, I really care about how the whole room feels. I’ve become known for my interactive setups like my craft bars where the kids actually get to make something beautiful that they can take home. I think my clients appreciate that I try to keep things looking clean, pretty, and organized so they don’t have to worry about the mess or the setup.
To be honest, what I’m most proud of isn’t a big award or a huge event it’s the fact that I have families who come back to me every single year. There’s something really special about being invited back to celebrate a child’s second birthday, then their third, and then their fourth. Building those relationships in the community means everything to me. I’m also proud that I’ve stayed true to my own style and kept pushing myself to learn new things, which is what led to the new Padme Events brand.
I don’t really like to compare myself to others, but I think what makes my work unique is that I put a lot of my own heart into every setup. I treat every party like I’m doing it for my own family. I try to find a balance where the kids have a total blast, but the space still looks beautiful and sophisticated for the parents, too. I’m just a local business owner who really loves what she does and I think that care shows up in the final result.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me the happiest is seeing the pure joy on a child’s face when they walk into their party. Seeing the birthday boy or girl feel truly celebrated is everything to me. I strongly believe that every child deserves to feel seen and special, especially on their big day.
There is something so rewarding about creating a space where kids can just be themselves, have fun, and be surrounded by the people they love. Whether they are getting creative at a craft station or enjoying a picnic with their friends, knowing that I played a small part in making them feel important and loved is what keeps me going. Seeing them happy and making those memories is the best part of the job, it’s exactly how I think every childhood celebration should feel.
