Check Out Bento Assis’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bento Assis.

Hi Bento, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a 15-year-old Brazilian golfer currently based in Boca Raton, Florida. I started playing golf at a very young age and quickly developed a passion for the game, along with a strong competitive mindset.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to build a strong junior career, becoming a 4-time U.S. Kids Golf World Champion and winning over 100 tournaments across the United States. More recently, I advanced through the first stage of U.S. Open Qualifying at age 15 and am now heading into the final qualifying stage, which has been a really important milestone for me.
Alongside competing, I’ve also had the opportunity to grow my presence off the course. I signed my first NIL deal with Under Armour at age 12 and continue to work closely with them, as well as with TaylorMade. Through social media and collaborations within the golf community, I’ve been able to share more of my journey and connect with a broader audience.
Right now, I feel like I’m at an important point in my career, transitioning from junior golf into the next level, and continuing to work every day to improve and compete at the highest level possible.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a completely smooth road.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was during a major growth spurt. It affected my coordination and I had to make significant adjustments to my swing. That period lasted close to a year, and the results were much lower than what I was used to. It was especially tough because I had always been very consistent and used to winning, so learning how to deal with that phase required a lot of resilience and patience.
Another challenge was adapting to homeschooling while maintaining a high-level training and competition schedule. The first few months were not easy until I found a routine that worked and allowed me to stay organized and focused.
Over time, these experiences helped me grow not only as a player, but also mentally. I learned how to deal with setbacks, stay disciplined, and keep improving even when results don’t come right away.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a competitive golfer focused on performing at the highest level of junior and amateur golf in the U.S. My daily routine is centered around training, competing, and constantly improving all aspects of my game — technically, physically, and mentally.
I would say I’m known for my consistency, discipline, and competitive mindset. From a young age, I’ve always been very focused on winning and performing under pressure, which helped me achieve results like becoming a 4-time U.S. Kids Golf World Champion and winning over 100 tournaments.
At the same time, one of the things I’m most proud of is how I’ve handled difficult moments in my journey. Going through periods where my performance dropped — especially during physical growth and swing changes — taught me resilience and helped me develop a stronger mental approach to the game.
What sets me apart is the combination of high-level performance and a strong long-term mindset. I’m fully committed to the process of improving every day, and I understand that consistency, discipline, and patience are key to reaching the next level.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say the most important quality for my success has been resilience.
There have been moments in my journey where things didn’t go as expected, especially during periods of physical growth when I had to rebuild parts of my game and deal with results that were much lower than what I was used to. Being able to stay focused, keep working, and trust the process during those phases made a big difference.
At the same time, discipline plays a huge role. Staying consistent with training, preparation, and mindset every day — even when results aren’t immediate — is what allows me to keep improving.
I believe the combination of resilience and discipline is what helps me move forward and continue developing at a high level.
