Check Out Bella Edwards’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bella Edwards

Hi Bella, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Bella Edwards (yes, like Twilight, but I tell people I came first😉), and I’m a health and wellness enthusiast and fitness instructor born and bred in Los Angeles.
•••
I grew up playing sports (tennis, volleyball and golf) and ended up playing volleyball at Emerson College where I received my degree in Marketing & Public Relations!
•••
Moving to Boston lead to the birth of my blog @Bellaeatwards (back in 2016), as a way to provide healthy dining hall/dorm hacks for students like myself who had (I kid you not) prison grade dining hall food.
•••
Flash forward to 2020, I graduated in the midst of the pandemic via zoom in LA and landed my first full-time role in PR, working for a boutique travel + leisure agency. I pivoted after a year and did PR for Taco Bell, which was hilariously the antithesis of me, and then spent a bit over a year in Venture Capital.
•••
All the while, I remained incredibly passionate about wellness and group fitness. I vividly remember going on walks, envisioning myself teaching on a stage, leading a room and moving with others- as movement had always been a big part of my life. Flash forward to 2023, I transitioned to teach group fitness, Pilates, consult and create content full-time. 🌟

It’s been a year since I’ve worked a traditional corporate job, and I am definitely in my ‘figuring it out’ / ‘throwing spaghetti at the wall’ era – i.e., a mix of questioning my existence & purpose every day, applying for corporate jobs and working hard to build a life out of my passion and love for the wellness space. Can any of my twenty-something’s relate?

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not! Like many 20-somethings trying to navigate the world and discover their passions, it’s been a windy, topsy turvy path. I graduated in 2020 thinking I would climb the corporate ladder, and quickly realized this just didn’t fill my cup.

Leaving corporate was one of the scariest, yet most fulfilling things I have ever done for myself. I don’t have it figured out by any means, however, I do know that life is too short to spend time doing things that don’t light you up.

If you’re reading this and feel the same, know you are not alone. The most powerful choice you can make is choosing yourself and believing in yourself. Keep going and don’t give up on yourself!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a pilates/fitness instructor and Content Creator based in Los Angeles!
I currently teach at Neighborhood Pilates in the Pacific Palisades and absolutely love it. Nothing lights me up more than teaching and moving with others. I would say I’m known for my bubbly personality and workouts that are fun, challenging and energizing. My goal with each interaction is to leave people feeling better than I found them.
Aside from teaching, I spend my days teaching, creating content for brands and my personal account, filming workouts and consulting as a Social Media Manager!
I’m most proud of my blog- while I’m not a mega influencer, I’m proud of the community I’ve built and relationships I’ve cultivated in this space. It’s something I’ve done completely on my own, and sky’s the limit!

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
You can do hard things! 99% of the time, the hardest part is showing up. Our mind and bodies are so much stronger (and more capable) than you could ever imagine!
