Check Out Allison Nordahl’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Nordahl.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am an actress. I got started when I was around 6, and the way I started is kind of ironic. I was a shy kid, and my parents thought taking acting classes would help me build confidence. Little did they know, I found my passion through those classes. Through the studio, I found an agent, and the rest is history. Along with acting, I have some other hobbies; I am a 2nd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, I play guitar, and I like to volunteer helping different organizations to give back to the commercials. I originally did mostly commercial acting, filming a multitude of tv commercials, but then began doing theatrical acting. I have worked as a translator for Steve Harvey on the show “Little Big Shots”, and currently, you can find me as a recurring guest star for Criminal Minds: Evolution.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I love acting, but it hasn’t always been easy. Something I hadn’t really predicted when I began acting is how many sacrifices I would have to make in order to get where I am now. I still take my school and extracurriculars very seriously, and sometimes it’s hard to balance all of them at once. And sometimes, not booking a role can make me feel very discouraged, and I need to push through.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
From acting to playing guitar, to performing stand-up comedy, I consider myself an artistic person. I am currently focused on acting, because of my recurring guest star role in Criminal Minds Evolution. What sets me apart is that I focus on things other than acting, like school and Taekwondo (I am a second-degree Black Belt). I also like to give back to the community by volunteering to help different organizations. Right now I am raising funds for Relay for Life. I am most proud of how far I have stepped out of my comfort zone.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I truly believe I have been so lucky throughout my acting career, especially since no one in my family had any prior knowledge to how it works. I truly believe any opportunity that I have is a demonstration of my luck and blessings in life and business.
