Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Aiken.
Blake, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My story, hmmm… well, the earliest art I can remember was as a child I would always draw these characters and action scenes in a little blue book up in my bunk bed. Fast forward to school repetitively doodling nothings throughout all of my papers. Then at 15 years old, I started to attempt to tattoo myself one little crappy tattoo at a time. Once I turned 18 in 2012, I got an apprenticeship and have been tattooing professionally ever since!
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art is mainly traditionally applied tattoos, which means each tattoo consists of a bold outline, black shading, and bright colors. Honestly, I just love the way American Traditional tattoos look!
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
Create, create, and create some more that’s an artist’s role!
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can see my work by following my Instagram @aikengang I post stories daily and stay up to date on the feed! You can support my work by buying a painting or better yet getting tattooed!
