Today we’d like to introduce you to 3rd Ai.
3rd, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Hollywood based street artist from Albuquerque, New Mexico. My primary focuses on art styles are Digital and Traditional methods of drawing and painting. I first started as boardwalk artist in Venice Beach, California. I then moved to the Hollywood area and have been there ever since. I have done some art projects for Streamy Awards, Dick Clark Productions just to name a couple. You can usually find me on Hollywood Boulevard selling my Celebrity Portraits or drawing characters of random pass-byers.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I generally focus on Pop Art or Graffiti style artworks, that have a spin or maybe even look psychedelic. I tend to use vibrant colors with my pieces and always try and work on making something interesting or different about them. I tend to focus on Digital and Traditional paintings. When I create Digitally, I use Adobe and Wacom products. When I create for more Traditional mediums, I use Spray paint, Acrylics, Airbrush, Prismacolors, etc. I generally paint portraits, fan art, abstracts, and mashups.
Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities, and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
I really just try and tell people to focus on looking for artwork opportunities. I look on the internet and use social media to try and reach people. Also, try and broaden your knowledge on different Art mediums. Once I learned how to create Digital artwork like vector illustrations and graphic design, more doors started to open. It’s a scary thing to not have any income and want to be selling your artwork. So I just advise to have part-time jobs, or maybe even working for companies that allow to work to when you want, so you can focus on your artwork.
