An Inspired Chat with RudeBoyKels of Los Angeles

RudeBoyKels shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

RudeBoyKels , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up and write in my journal first thing in the morning and get myself ready for the gym.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
How’s it I go by the name of RudeBoyKels I am an artist from a city called Norristown right outside of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. I am a first generation born from Jamaica. I am a song writer and recording artist. I also model for major brands as well. I make Caribbean, Hip-Hop and RnB music.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Nobody… I’ve always been confident and believe in myself and did what I wanted to do. I will never let anyone stop me from doing what I want because I always had self confidence.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
With my music. I feel like to be a great artist you have to be vulnerable because someone can relate to your story and you could help them and let them know they’re not alone.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes I am always myself 25/8. I can never not be myself because I couldn’t look at myself the same. I don’t lie in my music it’s all honesty.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
Giving my all and giving people the benefit of doubt. I let people show me who they are. I rather show people love so if it’s not appreciated I already did it.
