Hi haylee , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
As long as I’m not traveling for shows, everyday I am in my studio working on music or music related stuff. I try not to pressure myself to create every single day but I do make myself get up, get dressed and drive to my studio. Even if I’m just filling out paper work at my desk. It’s good for my mental to just be in a creative space by myself everyday.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Haylee Wood. Im a music producer and dj from Miami, Florida- now residing in Los Angeles, California. I come from a long background in music, from singing and songwriting to music theater and band. I create all my own vocals and lyrics from scratch and include them on my tracks. All of my music is my own original voice. I started in Tech House and I still create and make that genre of music. Recently, I’ve leveled up in my career where I’m doing some headline shows here and there. So I’ve started changing my live sets a bit to be multi genred. I love a full house set but playing anything I want and creating a real journey between genres has been my passion lately. This is what you could expect to hear when seeing me life for my own headline show or festival play.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child I was believed to me over emotional or sensitive but as an adult I have channeled that side of me to my music.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Honestly, no. I don’t think there will ever be either. I want the life I’m choosing too much and if you really want something. You can get it with grit and grind, is what I believe
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie that the industry tells itself, especially in EDM- is that you have to do everything yourself. The creating, the writing, the producing, the mastering, the mixing etc. on all of your music. Truth is, getting help whether through feedback circles from other producers or co producers is always going to level up your sound

In my life there is a lot of fast paced energy. A lot of anxiety and hustle. Something that helps me stay grounded and where I feel most at peace is when I’m mediating or doing yoga. It’s a simple thing really, but the best way I manage anxiety and the only time I feel like I can finally forget what is around me and just breathe.
