Good morning Charlotte, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me consists of teaching group music and theater classes, as well as one-on-one private voice lessons. When I’m not teaching, I’m usually at a rehearsal, a production meeting, or focusing on my professional development. I take music production lessons and carve out time to write. Staying creatively active and continually learning is what keeps me inspired.
I also make sure to reset by walking around my neighborhood, reading a plethora of books while floating in my pool, doing Pilates, or grabbing a bite with friends.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a classically trained vocalist, writer, director, and educator with a passion for both music and theater. While my training is in classical voice, I’ve always loved singing in other genres such as jazz, pop and my first love, musical theater. I’ve had the privilege of performing in unique and unexpected settings, each one deepening my appreciation for the power of music.
As a writer, I create original songs and plays that center the female experience with honesty and humor, always aiming for inclusive and expressive storytelling. Beyond performing and writing, I teach private voice and songwriting lessons to a diverse community of students, including professional musicians, working actors, and influencers across the U.S. I also direct theater and choir productions for students with special needs.
In both performance and education, my focus is authenticity. I want to amplify each person’s natural strengths and help them grow into confident, expressive artists. I want my art to evoke joy through depth.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’ve definitely let go of the version of myself that felt like I had to prove my worth through overworking, or saying yes to everything. That was a mentality that helped me survive early on, but I’m no longer in survival mode. Now, I choose projects that truly align with who I am and what I value.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Don’t chase a linear path that doesn’t exist. Things have a way of falling into place when you follow what feels right.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
I actually asked them, and they gave me the following answers:
-Living life to the fullest with travel and adventure!
-Inner peace
-Friends and Family
-Community at large, specifically bringing people together (I love hosting brunch and dinner parties!)
-Volunteering
-Kindness
-Honesty
-Good communication- using words thoughtfully and being transparent
-Food
-Learning
-Getting to know other cultures on a deep level
-Laughter
-Fun
-Writing music and participating in performances that create joy
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m creating or unwinding at home. Travel is also a powerful reset for me because I gain perspective and space. At the same time, I find peace in connection: collaborating, having deep conversations, or laughing with friends and family. I need both solitude and togetherness to feel whole.
