Amy Marietta of Los Angeles on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Amy Marietta. Check out our conversation below.

Amy, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: When was the last time you felt true joy?
True joy shows up for me when I put my phone down and fully immerse myself in the moment. Recently, while traveling through India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, I found myself learning about new cultures and feeling deeply present. I also felt proud of myself for taking the leap and choosing adventure. For me, true joy is about curiosity, presence, and experiencing the world with an open mind.

I also feel true joy when I’m creating. Whether it’s designing disco pieces, capturing a moment while traveling, or bringing an idea to life, there’s something deeply fulfilling about turning inspiration into something tangible. For me, true joy lives in those moments of presence and creativity, when I feel fully connected to the world and to what I’m building.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Amy Marietta, a lifestyle creator, artist (A.M. CLUB Studio), and entrepreneur sharing travel, design, and creative inspiration. I’ve been creating content since 2010, and over time my brand has evolved from fashion into travel storytelling and designing large scale disco art installations and sculptural pieces.

What makes my work unique is the blend of creativity and experience. I don’t just document beautiful places, I love collaborating with brands and spaces to bring unique, immersive experiences to life. Whether that’s creating art installations, curating travel inspiration, or designing visually impactful moments, my goal is always to inspire curiosity and connection.

Recently, I’ve been traveling through places like India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, drawing inspiration from different cultures and channeling that into both my creative work and collaborations. At the core, my brand is about living creatively, embracing freedom, and encouraging others to design a life that feels inspiring and meaningful.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was curious, creative, and deeply connected to animals and nature. Some of my earliest memories are dressing up my bunny, dog, and cats, taking photos of them with my little purple Polaroid i-Zone camera, and then scrapbooking the moments. I loved creating stories, capturing memories, and spending time with animals.

That part of me never really went away. It shaped how I see the world today. My love for animals and the planet is a big reason why I’m vegan and why I try to live intentionally and thoughtfully. I’ve always been drawn to creativity, curiosity, and compassion.

In many ways, my journey has been about returning to that version of myself, building a life rooted in creativity, travel, and meaningful experiences, while staying connected to what mattered most to me from the beginning.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The fear that held me back the most was being judged by others. For a long time, I worried about what people might think, whether I was doing something unconventional, taking risks, or choosing a different path. But over time, I realized how limiting that mindset was.

Now, when I feel that fear creep in, I remind myself to zoom out and think about the bigger picture. We’re all just on a floating rock, each living our own unique experience. If someone is judging me, I understand that often it’s a reflection of their own perspective or projections, not my reality.

I’ve learned that authenticity and freedom matter more than approval. Letting go of that fear has allowed me to live more boldly, take bigger leaps, and create a life that feels true to who I am rather than who others expect me to be.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I admire Greta Thunberg for her character, courage, and unwavering conviction. She embodies fearlessness, compassion, and empathy, standing up for what she believes in even when it’s unpopular or difficult. What I find especially inspiring is her willingness to use her voice not only for the planet, but also for human rights, including speaking out for Palestine.

She reminds me that true character isn’t about power or influence, it’s about integrity and the courage to stand for what you believe in, even when it comes with criticism. That kind of authenticity and moral clarity is something I deeply admire.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I think about this often. Sometimes I imagine an older version of myself looking back on my life, or someone watching it like a movie, and I wonder what they would be yelling at the screen for me to do. Would they be telling me to take the leap, to travel more, to stay curious, and not to play it safe?

I think I would regret not fully experiencing the world. Life feels richer when I’m learning from different cultures, meeting new people, and stepping outside my comfort zone. That’s why I try to travel as much as I can, and why I’m also exploring the idea of living in another country.

I imagine that future version of myself would remind me to be brave, stay open, and embrace the adventure while I can.
