Amy Jaime shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Amy, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
I’m honestly glad I didn’t rush into my music career when I was younger. Back then, I was so impatient and eager to make things happen fast, but I didn’t yet have the life experience, confidence, or clarity I have now. Getting older has taught me patience, discipline, and how to handle both success and setbacks with a level head. Who knows what could’ve happened if I had taken off too early—I might not have been ready for the pressure, the industry, or even for myself. Now I move with more purpose, better boundaries, and a stronger sense of who I am and what I want my music to represent.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Amy Jaime, and I’m a singer who creates music in both Spanish and English. I’m passionate about giving back and stay involved with charities and helping my community whenever I can. I’m also part of the GRAMMY U program with the Recording Academy, and I’ve had the chance to perform in various states. I’m excited to see where my journey takes me as I continue to grow and release new music.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before all of this, I was on a completely different path. I went to school for the medical field and ended up working in it, and while I found purpose in helping people, my heart was always drawn to music. I loved music deeply but let self-doubt and fear of what people might think hold me back for a long time. Now that I’m a little older, I see things differently—I believe we should all do what truly fulfills us, because at the end of the day, we all end up in the same place, and the only thing that really matters is choosing what makes us the happiest.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were moments when I almost gave up. Even now, I still have doubts sometimes—unfortunately, but don’t we all? The difference is that I don’t let those doubts stop me anymore. I’ve learned that doubt is part of the process, not a sign to quit. I keep going anyway, even on the days when it feels hard or uncertain, because this journey matters to me. I’m choosing to continue, to grow, and to believe in myself one step at a time.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
The version of me the public sees is the real me. I don’t put on a fake persona for social media or try to be someone I’m not—what you see is what you get. Everything I share is authentic, from the music to the moments behind the scenes, because I believe real connections come from honesty. I want people to feel like they truly know me through my art and my presence, not just a highlight reel or a curated image.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
The only thing I know I would truly regret is not trying. I would regret letting fear, doubt, or other people’s opinions stop me from going after what I love. Time moves whether we act or not, and I don’t want to look back wondering “what if” or wishing I had taken the chance. Even if things don’t always go perfectly, I’d rather say I gave it my all than live with the regret of never going for what fulfilled me.
