Alex Liggins of Toluca Lake on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Alex Liggins. Check out our conversation below.

Alex, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
As I regain consciousness from the previous night of sleep (or lack there of), before I even open my eyes, I feel grateful and give to thanks God; followed by a scriptural prayer and daily affirmations, I stretch and shake off the cob webs from the night before. The first 90 minutes of the day is complete with a cup of hot green tea and words-of-wisdom from good morning call to my mother before hitting the gym or heading to set.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Ultimately, I’m a Milwaukee Midwest kid that has Southern values, with East coast charisma that lives on the West coast; experiencing life’s explorations has been one of my foundational pillars throughout my acting journey.

I love performing because no one day on set is ever the same; with the creative element, to create a character arc for any role one plays, every person’s perspective is different.

Having the opportunity to move someone’s emotions and leave a lasting impression lets me know I’ve done my job as an artist.

Since attaining my Master’s Degree in Film Acting from New York Film Academy (LA Campus) while graduating at the top of my class, I’ve starred in six national commercials, joined SAG last month and a core cast member in the critically-acclaimed, Emmy-nominated show “The Pitt” on HBOMax; all-the-while feeling fortunate and blessed to do what I love in anticipation of what’s to come..

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I saw things for what I wanted them to be; as a man I see things for what they are.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“Hey Kiddo. Listen… things DO get better. You have a light inside you that brightens the darkest doorways; don’t ever let anyone convince you about YOU. Keep going Kiddo, you’ll accomplish more than you’ve ever desire; you might even surprise yourself.”

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Obsessively becoming the best version of myself; keeping positive energy and an inviting aura is important to my self-preservation.

I truly believe in reciprocal energy; that’s why I wish everyone:

Radiant Health
Abundant Wealth
Infinite Success
Eternal Happiness

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Trying…
