Today we’d like to introduce you to Britt Michaelian
Hi Britt, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always been an artist and a healer, but over the past few years I have become a healing artist. I would say this shift started when I became a reiki master. Since then, I’ve been doing BQH (Beyond Quantum Healing) quantum healing hypnosis sessions with clients and using that as a starting point for art making. Dolores Cannon started the quantum healing hypnosis technique and that was expanded by Candace Craw-Goldman who developed BQH. Dolores was very strict with her protocol, but Candace created a way for healers to incorporate reiki and other healing modalities into each session. I work with some clients just as a facilitator of their quantum healing and with others, I create art work they can use as a tool for their healing journey.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road worth traveling is a straight line. I think the beauty of life is in the twists and turns. One of the biggest obstacles to being a healer was the belief in my abilities. But from the very beginning, my clients have experienced incredible results. Whether it was a feeling of being heard, a new perspective on a situation, a deeper understanding of life purpose, or feeling a physical shift and having less pain, every client I have ever worked with has reported positive results from our work together. And despite my clients reporting their satisfaction with my work, it still took me a while to feel fully confident in my abilities as a facilitator of healing.
What clicked for me was the realization that I am not the one doing the healing, I’m simply inviting the energy of my client to move into balance and then witnessing the transformation. And this goes across all of the work I do, including my art. I create art that transmits healing energy, but the art is not doing the work, it is simply transmitting an energy that invokes healing in the viewer.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
What sets me apart from other artists is the healing component I integrate into each piece. Most art is created to make a statement or to explore a visual. It is about the artist. Like many other artists, I went to art school and studied things like figure drawing, color theory, and art history. But in addition to that, I am a reiki master and I have masters degrees in marriage and family therapy and art therapy. The art I create is about sending unconditional love to the viewer through reiki healing, powdered crystals, acrylic paint, energy vortex soil, and loving intention. That energy transmits the highest frequencies to the people, pets, plants, and places where it exists.
In addition, with each painting I sell, I offer a healing of the client’s choice. Some clients request a healing of their home, where the painting will be displayed. This is especially powerful after a major life transition such as moving to a new home, after a divorce, when a loved one has been ill or passed away, and any time someone has experienced or overcome a challenge in life. I have also worked with clients who prefer to do remote reiki energy healing where I balance their energy or even the energy of the entire family unit. I’ve even had one client who requested that I do an energy healing on their business! I do believe anything is possible, so I’m open to healing whatever the client needs help with. I don’t just make a painting to hang on a wall. I make paintings that will have a positive impact on the world.
What were you like growing up?
When I was a kid, I had a vivid imagination. I loved to draw and create my own worlds. I also sensed energy from a young age. I could tell if someone was in a bad mood without them saying a word. I could also feel tension between people, but I didn’t understand it which created a lot of anxiety. Now that I know how to recognize subtle energies, I can remember times when I felt the energy of others thinking it was my own. I didn’t have anyone in my life to teach me about energy hygiene and boundaries.
Like many kids in high school, I was very insecure. The summer before junior year, my family moved to Newport Beach, a town where I knew no one and most of the other kids had known one another for many years. I bounced around between friend groups and never felt like I fit in. In many ways, that made me more adaptable as I grew into adulthood, but it also made me act in ways that I look back on and wish I could have done better. The thing that saved me in high school was my love of art and a great art teacher at Corona Del Mar High School. Ms. Klammer made an exception and allowed me to be an assistant in her art class. She believed in me as an artist. And to this day, I am still grateful for her support.
