Hidden Gems: Meet Sandra Glagla of Peak Performance LA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Glagla

Hi Sandra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into personal training began with a deep passion for helping people become the best versions of themselves—happier, healthier, and more confident in their own skin. With over 30 years of experience in bodybuilding, I’ve witnessed firsthand how transformative fitness can be—not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally.

For me, personal training isn’t just about building strength or achieving aesthetic goals, though those are valuable too. It’s about empowering people to take control of their health and live longer, fuller lives. The most rewarding part of my work is seeing clients go from struggling to thriving through the changes we’ve implemented together. My mission is to guide people toward sustainable, lifelong improvements that enhance their overall well-being.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of this journey has been helping clients manage or even reverse illnesses like Type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. It’s incredible to watch them reduce their dependence on medications and reclaim their vitality—all through fitness and healthier choices they’ve made for themselves.

There’s nothing more inspiring than seeing someone accomplish what they once thought was impossible, whether it’s lifting heavier weights, improving their posture, or simply feeling more energized throughout their day. Knowing that I’ve contributed to their transformation keeps me passionate and motivated every single day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is finding new clientele, especially when you don’t have a large social media presence or are trying to build a client base the old-fashioned way. It’s even tougher when you’re competing with trainers who sell themselves cheaply and promise quick results but aren’t focused on helping clients achieve sustainable success. These trainers may even tell you that you can eat whatever you want, just to win you over—but this is simply not true.

What people often don’t realize is that a good trainer invests in your long-term health and transformation. It’s not just about the time you spend together in the gym; it’s about everything they do behind the scenes—tracking your food, reminding you to stay active, hydrate, and get quality sleep. A good trainer goes above and beyond. While an expensive trainer isn’t always guaranteed to be effective, it’s clear that low-cost trainers often lack the experience, expertise, and systems necessary to help you achieve lasting change.

When choosing a trainer, ask yourself: “Have I seen real progress? Am I moving toward my goals?” If you’re not making the progress you want, it might be time to reassess and find a trainer who is truly committed to helping you reach your full potential.

As you know, we’re big fans of Peak Performance LA. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
As the owner and head trainer of Peak Performance LA, my mission is to help individuals achieve long-lasting health and fitness through personalized, sustainable programs. With over 30 years of experience in bodybuilding, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients, tailoring each plan to their unique goals and needs. Whether you’re a man striving to build a strong, muscular physique or a woman aiming for a curvy, toned figure, I design customized programs including nutrition to get you there.

What sets Peak Performance LA apart is the comprehensive approach I bring to fitness – as is more than just what happens in the gym. Beyond aesthetic goals like fat loss, body sculpting, and total body transformations, I also specialize in corrective exercise to support recovery after injuries and help my clients move pain-free. Additionally, I provide guidance for women navigating peri- and post-menopause, helping them maintain strength, vitality, and confidence during these transitions. For those who prefer a more independent approach or are working with a lower budget, I also offer an online self-training program. This program provides professional guidance at an affordable price, helping you stay on track and reach your goals, no matter where you’re starting from.

This is about more than just workouts—it’s about creating a lifestyle. From nutrition plans to lifestyle coaching, I offer the tools and support you need to create real, lasting change. At Peak Performance LA, you get the benefit of individualized attention and expertise, not a cookie-cutter program or empty promises of quick fixes.

One of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping clients see real transformations—not just in how they look, but in how they feel. As previously mentioned in this article – Whether it’s reversing Type 2 diabetes, managing blood pressure, building strength, or simply feeling more energetic and confident, I’m proud of the meaningful impact I’ve had on my clients’ lives.

If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this: Peak Performance LA is about empowering you to take control of your health, fitness, and overall well-being. Whether you’re ready for one-on-one coaching or need guidance through a self-directed program, I’m here to help you succeed.

Ready to start your journey? Let’s work together to unlock your full potential.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Throughout my journey, there have been countless people who’ve played a role in my growth and success, and I’m incredibly grateful to each of them. From mentors and colleagues to supportive clients and friends, they’ve all taught me invaluable lessons that have shaped not only my approach to fitness but also how I navigate life.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that not everything I once thought to be true was actually right. Some methods from the “good old days” of fitness and nutrition have since been proven outdated or ineffective. I’ve had to relearn, adapt, and embrace new evidence-based approaches, and I’m thankful for those who challenged my old ways of thinking. Life truly is a constant learning curve, and being open to growth has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.

I’ve also learned that sometimes, despite your best efforts, you can’t help everyone. Whether it’s due to timing, mindset, or circumstances, there are moments when you have to let go and move on. For someone like me, who’s deeply invested in my clients’ success, this was a tough lesson to learn. But I’ve grown to accept it and focus my energy on those who are ready and willing to make lasting changes.

To my clients, thank you for trusting me with your health and fitness journey. You inspire me every day. And to my mentors, supporters, and even those who challenged me, thank you for helping me become not just a better trainer but a better person. Your influence reminds me to keep learning, adapting, and giving my best to everyone I work with.
