Early on, we focused on honing our skills in wedding and event photography. As word spread and our clientele grew, we expanded our offerings to include maternity, newborn, and studio photography. These genres allowed us to capture intimate moments, from the excitement of expecting parents to the milestones of a newborn’s first days.
Driven by a desire to serve the vibrant and diverse communities across Southern California, we set up our studio in Pasadena and Glendale while extending our services to the entire region. Our dedication to affordable, high-quality photography has led us to work with countless wonderful clients, each with their unique stories and special moments.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any business journey, ours has had its fair share of challenges along the way. Starting out, one of our biggest struggles was establishing a reputation in a highly competitive market. Southern California has no shortage of talented photographers, and standing out was essential but challenging. We dedicated ourselves to refining our style, investing in high-quality equipment, and learning how to best serve our clients to create lasting impressions.
Another hurdle was balancing affordability with the quality and attention to detail we wanted to provide. It took time to find a balance that allowed us to offer competitive rates without compromising the experience or results. We worked hard to build efficient workflows, optimize our equipment investments, and manage our time effectively, ensuring we could keep our services affordable for clients while delivering exceptional work.

However, it’s essential to know your worth and consider both your time and expenses. That said, you need to stay competitive and flexible, especially in the beginning. Finding that balance will take some trial and error.
Build Relationships, Not Just a Client List: One thing we learned is that relationships can lead to long-term success. Every client has the potential to become a returning customer or to refer you to their friends and family. Treat every client with respect, go the extra mile, and let them know they matter to you. The connection you build will often be just as valuable as the photos you deliver.
