Inspiring Conversations with Paola Ramirez of Paolii Beauty Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paola Ramirez

Hi Paola , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved the beauty industry, but as a first generation student I felt the need and maybe even pressure to go to college and make something of myself. I went to college, received a Bachelors in psychology and worked with kids with autism. I really liked behavioral therapy and saw the difference it made in kids whose family followed through. My supervisors saw my potential and tried to encourage me to get my Masters and work my way up the company. I became attached to some of these kids, but it was a lot mentally and physically. I would leave their homes drained and would sit in my car and I would ask myself, “Is this what you want to do for the rest of your life?” The answer was always no. As much as I loved helping and making a difference in these kid’s lives, I knew I wanted to pursue something in the beauty industry. I’ve came to the conclusion that maybe being in that field for a handful of years had a good reason: to show up as a better mom for my two kids. I truly believe it helped me be a better mom.

Throughout college, I would do my friend’s and family’s makeup. I loved it! I loved the art behind it. I loved the way it made them feel; they felt beautiful. I continued doing freelance makeup on the weekends and finally took a lash course December 2018. Almost one year after getting certified in lash extensions, my husband encouraged me to go to esthetician school to be “legit”. Being licensed definitely helped in boosting my confidence as an artist. This meant no more turning down weddings at the wineries since I was finally licensed in the state of California. It also meant I could legally work in a salon setting. Yes, I continued to work from home, but I knew that one day I would open up my own salon. Fast froward to today and my salon, Paolii Beauty Lounge, is finally open! We opened August 27th 2024. I know God has amazing plans for me and all the artists that work here. I am extremely grateful.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We live in a crazy world of ying and yang, good and bad, ups and downs. Most of us have a lot of struggles we have to overcome, but I think it makes success and victory that much sweeter.

We are independent artists working as a team to make our clients feel the most beautiful. We offer a variety of services including lash extensions, lash lifts, brow lamination + tint, bridal makeup, facials, chemical peels, permanent makeup, massages and full body waxing. There’s so many talented artists and beautiful salons out there, but our salon is like no other in the area. I am very proud of the space I have created and hope that everyone that steps in the space sees that as well. Without our amazing clients, we would not be where we are. Customer service is everything to us. We are so grateful for each and every person that walks through our doors and that shares our business name with others.
