Rising Stars: Meet Fadi Dinha of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fadi Dinha

Hi Fadi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started making Vines from my bedroom in 2014 because I figured being an influencer would open the doors to the entertainment industry. I wanted to be an actor originally but as I was making videos I realized I liked comedy way more. It took a lot of stubbornness because I was not funny but I wanted to be, really badly. Luckily it paid off when TikTok became popular and I started posting my videos on there. That’s when things really picked up.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it’s been ten years of the bumpiest ride I’ve ever been on. If someone told 16 year old me it would take eight years before I made a penny I would’ve quit before I started. I had to learn a lot about the craft, people, and myself along the way. The trials and tribulations are going to show you who you really are. How much patience you have, how long you can persist, how you are when you’re low on money. Expect your breaking point to be reached time and time again. But you’ll become more resilient every time.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a standup and sketch comedian. I’m mostly known for sketch comedy however, because most of my videos online are skits. I’m most proud of the audience I’ve built and how I’ve done it. I know people who make videos that they hate, because it pays their bills. It’s a hard thing to break out of. But I make exactly what I want so I’m having fun and enjoying it.

What makes you happy?
My job. Talking to people and occasionally making them laugh. Wether it’s on stage or through a skit. That feeling of telling a joke in front of strangers and hearing them break out in laughter at your ideas. But I enjoy simply having their undivided attention. It’s worse losing their attention than not making them laugh.
