Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyree Traylor
Tyree, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Born in Gardena, California on July 14th 1998 and raised in Compton and Hawthorne, growing up with a single mother with the total of 3 kids, the beginning was a bit rough. Living from place to place and at some point in a hotel as a child I was a troubled youth but I always continued to want to be better. I started off playing football for the Carson Colts at Scotts Park in Carson and also while being in that area I learned how to skateboard. I took skateboarding with me as I moved to Hawthorne California and learned more as Hawthorne is heavily populated with professionals. The likes of Louie Lopez, Theotis Beasley, and many more. While also living in Hawthorne along with the other kids around Eucalyptus Skatepark aka ‘The Dirt’ we seen the rise of stars Tyler The Creator and Jasper. They are a big influence in that area and at 12 yrs old I started writing music. Fast forward to 2016, I began attending the HBCU Wilberforce University in Ohio, going to school for business management but 2 years in I made a choice that I needed to come back to Los Angeles and figure out what I actually need to be doing. I always made music but I want to be everything I can be so I started background acting. While background acting I landed a great feature role for me in HBO’s ‘Winning Time : Rise of the Lakers Dynasty’ , and with that being a period piece, capturing me with my authentic 70’s look, I landed another great role in Paramount Plus’s ‘The Offer’ . After ‘The Offer’ I landed a major role in an unreleased documentary by Oscar winners Daniel Junge and Sam Pollard. During this time I realized how great this is and started attending the Ruskin School of Acting for a year of theatre acting classes as well as some scene study classes with major actors. Continuing my journey I landed a photoshoot campaign with LinkedIn and met with Vice President, Creative Director, and Copywriter. Starting the entertainment part of my career I wouldn’t had imagined to advance at that rate and being apart of the masterpiece’s I’ve been apart of to start is amazing and gave me the insight to actually to teach and help the community and incorporate important messages with what I’m doing. As I just finished Associate Producing the 32nd annual Young Playwrights Festival working with amazing young playwrights, actors, directors and an amazing team at the Blank Theatre I learned a lot about developing the youth and the advancement of that so that’s definitely a mission of mine. I’m currently getting my film degree and learning to make impactful films, tv shows, and etc for the better of our society.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Going to college in Ohio and coming back to Los Angeles converting my career/life path.
*I accidentally gave my whole run down in the last post*
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

*accidentally gave the whole spill in the 1st question*
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Coming from the environment I come from I didn’t know you can actually be anything you want to be and by doing the work I received results and as I read, learned, and bettered myself things came. I changed my direction at 22 and I’m 26yrs old now, I can say this to any kid or anyone, you can be anything you want and touch the world, start now.
