Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy McColm
Hi Wendy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Life is very wild. I really have no clue how I got here today, other than when I was little, I remember wishing to myself that I would travel for work, and that I always had a video camera in my hand. I remember playing The Little Red Hen in first grade, but no clue how I memorized the lines. Cut to now, where this is still what I am doing daily. Perhaps, some things are just meant for you, it’s just our job not to doubt it- ever.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say, it has been a smooth road, if you really don’t compare you road to another person’s road, and you enjoyed it, it is smooth. Sometimes in retrospect it is smooth because you went through a past hard ship and turbulent time, but during that time you held a vision, and faith…and because of that- the bumps didn’t hurt as bad and maybe they could have. I thank God for that guidance, and vision during those times of hard ship. Now, may be the hardest time I’ve endured, only because I am happy, it’s strange to be happy and content yet want to work more and create more at the same time. Challenging to know when to fight the moon, and when to just admire it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I make movies! I love creating stories from real life experiences, even though sometimes exaggerated, they do come from me and what I feel on Earth. I would say I specialize in Dialogue, and working scenes with empathy and emotion. I like telling story with images as well, but I do think so many people in the world are great at images and trends right now, I am continuing to put the eggs in the basket of empathy and dialogue- the opening up of people, and the fascination I have will how we navigate this world.
