Daily Inspiration: Meet Robb Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robb Smith

Hi Robb , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Went through a divorce and started new in Long Beach. Worked for Postmates on my bike and wanted to make a delivery service that was community oriented and no hidden fees or take from the business. Here we are five years later donating 20% of our sales to directly go back in to Long Beach to feed, clothe house and help directly in our community. We do numerous drives through out the year and Christmas we feed five families a full course meal, a toy drive with Long beach Runners club. That impacts directly to the people in need of Long Beach. We also feed five families for Thanksgiving a full course meal and bake cookies and hot coco for Christmas and distribute toys and our winter wishes drive with blankets coats and socks during the winter time as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been easy at all. Navigating being a single dad,Covid, and demand and exposure for people to utilize us and support local. So very grateful to Long Beach and their support to my family and me. I also take this very personal to help because when we were homeless and I was building this business and raising awareness it was this city that made us thrive. That’s why it’s so important for me to give back because I can’t ever repay what was done for us and continued to be done with the support but also it’s just the right thing to do.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My background is mostly sales. I love to connect and talk to people and I’m genuine about my encounters. I think that’s why we have got so far because I treat people intentional and not transactional. I connect through heart and I really believe in people over profit. I want us all to win and thrive and have hope. I’m grateful for my ability for that. I am grateful to be able to connect and grow in people and help people. I’m also proud to help lead our city. I am a commissioner for the city of along Beach for Economical Development, I am on the Small Business council board for The Long Beach Area Chamber Of Commerce. And also sit as a Committee member for The Downtown Long Beach Alliance. I am grateful not only to help my city with my business but to help from within too.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I’d have to say my biggest and most sincere thanks goes to the city of Long Beach. They have navigated with us and have helped my family and community in a way I could never imagine. From starting off on a bike and taking the kids to school by bus in another city for two years. They rallied behind me and grew to where we are today. This community is something so special to me and it’s the people in it I am most grateful for. I’d also like to thank Blair Cohn. He’s the director of the Bixby Knolls Business Association. Not only is he a friend but he’s a great mentor and guidance through my operative struggles and just to be an ear to guide me to excel. He also a huge supporter to our services and mission.
