Daily Inspiration: Meet Lucy Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucy Lopez

Hi Lucy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Lucy Lopez, a twenty-something creative living in Los Angeles, California. I’m one of the lucky ones to have been born and raised in LA, a city that’s constantly inspiring with its vibrant, hard-driven, and creative energy.

I’ve always had a passion for marketing and earned my degree in Communications from UCSD. During my undergrad, I had a few social media marketing internships from fashion and jewelry brands. After graduation, I moved back to LA and got marketing jobs in the entertainment and fashion industries. Since I want to test out every industry, I am currently doing influencer marketing for a beauty brand and have been loving it!

In addition to my full-time job, I also work as a fashion and lifestyle influencer and create UGC for brands I admire. Having experience on the brand side gives me a unique perspective, so I get what brands are looking for when it comes to content.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of my challenges is juggling my regular 9-to-5 with my influencer work. What many people don’t realize is that being an influencer is a full-time job. I have to plan and create content, engage with my audience, and pitch to brands, all while managing my day job. It can definitely get overwhelming at times, but I remind myself how lucky I am to have the opportunity to do both and that I can handle anything that comes my way.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I was born and raised in LA, so I’ve always been surrounded by creative and hard-driven people. Growing up in this inspiring environment fueled my passion for social media and marketing, which I saw as a way to channel my creativity. This ultimately led me to study Communications at UCSD.
After graduating, I worked in marketing roles in the entertainment and fashion industries, and now I’m in marketing for a beauty brand. Alongside my full-time role, I also work as a fashion and lifestyle influencer as well as creating UGC content for brands I admire.

Balancing both can be challenging at times, but I love having the opportunity to combine my passion for marketing with content creation. It keeps me motivated and allows me to express my creativity in multiple ways.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I feel incredibly lucky to have met so many amazing people throughout my career—friends who have not only been a huge part of my personal life but are also now people I get to collaborate with, work alongside, and network with. It’s been so rewarding to see those connections expand as I meet their networks too.

Attending influencer events has been such a valuable way for me to network and meet incredible people in this industry. The support from this small community has been beyond amazing—it’s truly a reciprocal space where we lift each other up, collaborate, and share opportunities. It’s inspiring to be part of a group that’s so committed to helping one another succeed!

As for finding a mentor or networking advice, what has worked well for me is being open and approachable. Building genuine connections comes from listening, showing interest in others’ work, and offering help or collaboration whenever possible. I’ve also found that being consistent in showing up—whether it’s at events or through my work—keeps me top of mind for people, and those relationships naturally evolve into strong networks.
