Today we’d like to introduce you to Natali Velazquez
Hi Natali, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Mariachi Herencia Michoacana started in 2017 in the City of Azusa. We noticed that most after-school programs primarily focused on sports or clubs,in which we engage children with their culture and heritage. Our goal and our purpose to this group is too see our members to one day perform or open the shows with famous artists.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey of Mariachi Herencia Michoacana has not been easy. We’ve have faced numerous ups and downs along the way. Some of the challenges have not been with the group members but with their parents by giving them a high echo in which they don’t know understand that at the end it will be affecting each other. In which we try too keep them humble and consideration that nothing is easy. The challenge has taught us valuable lessons to which we have grown stronger together.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work with the Mariachi involves contracts and seeking out performance opportunities. My primary goal is to expand my group as well aim to inspire the next generation to embrace our culture heritage through music.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
What I’d like to share is to give us an opportunity to perform for you and know who we are as well where we want to go. Our members are still students learning both academically and about the true essence of Mariachi. Unfortunately we often face judgments based on our age and perceived lack of talent. However we believe that once you hear us perform, you’ll see the passion and dedication that we have and define us.
