Today we’d like to introduce you to Erick Rodriguez

Hi Erick, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am artist special effects residing in Los Angeles. I was a creative Kid growing up want to draw, sculpt every chance I had. I attend the art center in Pasadena Ca. after college. Got my first gig in Spiderman as a sculptor threw a buddy of mine. Worked about 8 years in Halloween Horror Night universal in Hollywood Ca. about 17 years in the feature film Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy and Grimm tv series. Now I operated my own studio providing a plethora of services special effects makeup, creature suits, props and design etc. You can see our current work via Instagram @imaginerick.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning yes could not find any work, trying to find the in and out of the film industry. Until the second year I had a breakthrough working as a sculptor, painter for Universal Halloween Horror Night in Hollywood Ca then feature films. From that point on I had great success landing several of jobs. You have to be patient and have perseverance, I had to practice on my skill as a designer and sculptor.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am creature designer and sculptor. I artist that designs the look of the creatures in films and tv series. Then I get to sculpt them for the production team or producer or director to see. I am known for Alien creatures and sci-fi characters. My proudest movement has been working in film as a dreamer growing up, I envision myself doing this as a career, so I was able to achieve them stuck to my goals, accomplished. I did have some roadblock along the way however I am here to stay. I am very unique style of creature’s designs and sculpt.

What does success mean to you?
