Today we’d like to introduce you to Britton Bentley
Hi Britton, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, California. I went to college at USC and decided to pursue film and music. I connected with an amazing community of collaborators who I’ve worked with on a number of projects. Recently I wrote the screenplay for the film ‘The Iron Door’ directed by Garrett Patten. I just put out new music with JONE JONES and I will be playing some shows in L.A. this summer.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest challenge is just being consistent. The writer’s strike was rough. It shut production down on my first movie. And the pandemic shut down the vibrant venues and music scene in L.A. when I was starting to gain confidence as a performer. But it’s all about being consistent and doing the work even when no one sees it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My friends describe my style as New Americana. I love telling stories across mediums that tap into the unconscious mind of the American Dream. My music has a cinematic quality. My movies have a musicality to them.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Connect with people who want to build with you regardless of the outcome.
