Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashleigh Dawson
Hi Ashleigh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my environmental advocacy work while pursuing her fashion internships in Los Angeles, California. I started learning about overproduction and the broken linear economy we have today. At 18 and with a vision, I created Recycle2Riches.org! My main goal with this non-profit is to transform the culture of consumption on a global scale. As the President of R2R, I believe that the world needs to work towards a circular economy along with a closed-loop lifestyle.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been many challenging times along the way. Volunteering my time for the nonprofit while simultaneously pursuing my Bachelor’s degree and working full-time has often felt like burning the candle at both ends. On top of that, being dyslexic makes tasks like filling out grants, and applications, and keeping up with general paperwork for the nonprofit particularly difficult.
Despite these hardships, I firmly believe that every mountain has a valley you have to go through first. These struggles have only strengthened my commitment to the cause. Each challenge has been an opportunity for growth and learning, and I remain dedicated to making a positive impact through Recycle2Riches.

Recycle2Riches is changing the culture of consumption with communication, collaboration and community education.
Through our collective efforts, R2R aims to inspire individuals, companies and communities to adopt more sustainable lifestyles. Our approach involves not only raising awareness about environmental issues but also actively engaging with the community members to empower them with the knowledge needed to make conscious consumption choices.
